A nonagenarian woman has been accused of committing a deadly act at a nursing facility in New York City on a late Sunday evening. The suspect, a 95-year-old resident named Galina Smirnova, has been detained currently, following her alleged assault on another resident. Smirnova supposedly employed a metallic component detached from her wheelchair whilst engaged in the act.
The attack took place at the Seagate Rehabilitation and Nursing Center located in Brooklyn. The incident seemed to have brewed out of an ongoing heated dispute between the two elderly women prior to the fatal encounter. As soon as the police were informed, they promptly intervened and arrived on the scene.
There, they discovered an 89-year-old woman, Nina Kravtsov, who appeared to have sustained severe injuries to her head. Without any delay, she was rushed to the nearby hospital for immediate treatment. Kravtsov was a courageous woman, known for her admirable survival during the Holocaust, and had immigrated from Ukraine years back.
Sadly, early the following Monday morning, Kravtsov succumbed to her inflicted injuries in the hospital. In the meanwhile, Kravtsov’s alleged assaulter, Smirnova, has been admitted to the Coney Island Hospital. Current knowledge suggests that she will undergo a comprehensive evaluation dealing with both physical and psychiatric aspects. The court awaits the evaluation results for appropriate proceedings.
