Gov. Gavin Newsom Wants Mandate For Oil Companies To Create Stockpile Of Gasoline 

Chevron had been headquartered in California for over 140 years, giving it strong roots in this state. However, the toxic policies of California’s lawmakers and regulators have killed those roots.
The fossil fuel giant will relocate to Texas.
Sacramento sees gasoline firms and petroleum refineries as cash cows that will always agree to be milked despite being made into a climate villain and accused of corporate greed.
So, to resolve the state’s serious energy challenges, California Gov. Gavin Newsom called for a special session Saturday after the Assembly rebuffed his efforts to pass an energy package before a critical deadline passed.

Newsom’s plan mandates that the state’s oil companies create gasoline stockpiles.

California Governor Gavin Newsom plans to propose legislation requiring oil companies in the most-populous US state to amass stockpiles of gasoline and other fuels to prevent supply shortages and price spikes during refinery outages.

 

Newsom’s proposals will likely do nothing more than drive the closure of even more refineries and firms that support the fossil fuel industry. That may be his objective, but unless a lot more of those Generation IV nuclear reactors start appearing or lithium battery fires stop erupting, it is going to be increasingly difficult to sustain the California lifestyle that Democrats from this state tout.
The petroleum industry has pushed back, saying the mandate would hurt consumers.

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen predicts that the U.S. economy will likely remain solid amid several weaker-than-expected jobs reports and after the stock market posted its worst week in months.
“We’re seeing less frenzy in terms of hiring and job openings, but we’re not seeing meaningful layoffs,” Yellen said during an event on Sept. 7, CNBC reported. “I’m attentive to downside risk now on the employment side, but what I think we’re seeing, and hope we will continue to see, is a good, solid economy.”
The secretary said that the decline in job growth was caused by a slowdown after a “hiring frenzy” following the COVID-19 pandemic, adding that the overall economy is “deep into a recovery” and “operating at full employment.”

North Korea vows expansion of its nuclear arsenal

North Korea is planning to boost its stockpile of nuclear weapons to counter threats posed by the US and its allies, the country’s leader Kim Jong-un has said.

Maine officials are considering declaring a deadly mosquito-borne illnesses a public health emergency, which would give them additional powers.
The state has recorded three cases of eastern equine encephalitis (EEE) – an incurable infection that kills a third of patients – in pets and 15 cases of West Nile virus in wild birds.
Given the rise, a state public health panel recommended a public health emergency declaration, which would allow the state to receive additional funding and implement ‘other interventions’ to prevent the spread.
If issued, Maine may follow neighboring Massachusetts and Vermont, which are both experiencing a similar rise, where officials have given ‘strong recommendations’ to stay inside at night and cancelled nighttime events.

The report alleges that Cuomo’s administration manipulated death statistics to obscure the severity of this policy, attempting to evade responsibility for its catastrophic consequences.
The findings detail how the former governor altered official New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) data and omitted critical information about nursing home-related deaths to disguise the impact of the directive that forced nursing homes to admit infected individuals. 

According to the memo, “The Cuomo administration — through the NYSDOH — began collecting data on nursing home fatalities in March 2020.”
It further states that “Contrary to Mr. Cuomo’s testimony, his administration changed the methodology in which nursing home fatalities were accounted for and publicly reported.
His administration initially categorized out-of-facility deaths as nursing home fatalities but stopped reporting those numbers as nursing home fatalities on May 3, 2020.”

Michigan Supreme Court Blocks RFK Jr.’s Bid To Remove Name From Ballot

The Michigan Supreme Court has denied Robert F. Kennedy’s request to have his name removed from the state’s general election ballot, reversing a lower court ruling and closing the last legal avenue available to Kennedy in the case.
In a split 5–2 ruling issued on Sept. 9, the Michigan Supreme Court reinstated the original ruling by the Michigan Court of Claims, which denied Kennedy’s motion for mandamus relief, an extraordinary legal remedy that requires a plaintiff to demonstrate a clear legal right and that the defendant, in this case the Michigan Secretary of State, has a clear duty to act.
The high court ruled that Kennedy did not provide a clear legal basis requiring the removal of his name from the November ballot and failed to identify a law that would leave no room for discretion in this matter on the part of election officials.

In Dallas, election workers are being directed to apply church addresses to homeless people who are registering to vote.
This is certainly a questionable practice.  In most states you cannot register from a mailbox, or empty lot, or grocery store, or some place where you do not live.

A video from Dallas County, Texas, shows election trainers directing workers to use church addresses to register homeless individuals to vote.

 

The video was reportedly taken on August 24 during election training in the county.
