Fetterman Signals He’s Voting For Trump’s Nominees: ‘That’s The Way Democracy Works’

Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) has expressed a willingness to support several of President-elect Donald Trump’s Cabinet nominees, emphasizing his commitment to democratic processes and bipartisan cooperation. In a recent interview, Fetterman stated, “Trump won, and now they’re going to run the table, and so they get to pick those kinds of people… I want to find a way to work together on a bunch of them.”

Fetterman has indicated his intention to vote in favor of the following nominees:

Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) for Secretary of State
Representative Elise Stefanik (R-NY) for U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations
Former Representative Sean Duffy (R-WI) for Secretary of Transportation
Brooke Rollins for Secretary of Agriculture

He has already met with several nominees, including former Representative Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI), nominated for Director of National Intelligence, and plans to meet with others such as Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Governor Kristi Noem. Fetterman emphasized the importance of engaging with each nominee, stating, “I’m open to hear from everyone, and I don’t know why that’s controversial.”

This approach has drawn criticism from some within his party; however, Fetterman maintains that supporting qualified nominees, regardless of party affiliation, is part of his senatorial duties. He advised fellow Democrats to “chill out” over every move made by President-elect Trump, suggesting that constant outrage is unsustainable over the next four years.

Fetterman’s stance reflects his commitment to bipartisan collaboration and the functioning of democratic institutions, acknowledging the electoral outcome and the necessity of working with the incoming administration.
