The race pits conservative Brad Schimel against liberal Judge Susan Crawford, with the ideological balance of Wisconsin’s high court hanging in the balance. In addition to campaign backing, Musk launched a bold initiative to boost turnout and awareness—offering $1 million each to two Wisconsin voters who sign a petition opposing judicial activism. Despite legal threats from state officials, including Attorney General Josh Kaul, the Wisconsin Supreme Court declined to block Musk’s initiative.
