Ashley St. Clair Rejects Elon Musk’s $15M Hush Money Offer

Throughout a recent high-profile conversation, Ashley St. Clair unveiled her refusal of a significant offer from Elon Musk to maintain secrecy about the paternity of her son. The young writer, aged 26, professed this Tuesday that the tech tycoon, aged 53, proposed a unique $15 million payment plus a monthly $100,000 to be paid until the child’s 21st birthday if she agreed to keep mum on the subject of paternity. Musk’s attempt to influence St. Clair, who just revealed her baby’s name as Romulus St. Clair for the first time, came through his longtime confidant, Jared Birchall, she affirms.

It appeared that Birchall reached out to St. Clair post-childbirth in September to persuade her to hold back the details of her involvement with the SpaceX chief, promising financial assistance in return for her silence. Stressing that she didn’t want her 7-month-old son, referenced as ‘R.S.C.’ in legal documents, to experience feelings of illegitimacy, St. Clair chose not to seal the agreement.

St. Clair alleges that the purported non-disclosure agreement she was handed would have significantly curtailed her rights, even while failing to extend the same limitations to Musk. She contends that the proposed contract fell short in various respects, including not offering protection for costs connected with security, providing assistance in the event of a severe illness of the child, and failing to establish a trust fund or life insurance policy for the event of Musk’s premature passing.

Additionally, she was supposedly informed that any breach of the agreement’s terms would compel her to return the initial $15 million payment. Amid the ongoing paternity dispute with Musk, St. Clair’s disclosure offered a fresh perspective on the matter. Earlier in February, she initiated legal proceedings against the billionaire for full custody.

St. Clair appears to convey a vibe of coercion resulting from Birchall’s involvement in their interactions. Birchall allegedly cautioned her that more often than not, divergence from the proposed terms tends to lead to negative ramifications. Musk, known to be engaged in bitter custody disputes with former partner Grimes over their three children, had reportedly relied on Birchall as a conduit for negotiations in prior disputes as well.

Musk’s battles over custody rights involved their three children – 4-year-old X Æ A-Xii, 3-year-old Exa Dark Sideræl, and 2-year-old Tau Techno Mechanicus. Having started in 2023, these fights involved intense court debacles, with Birchall frequently playing the role of intermediary. Yet, by August, Musk and Grimes were able to finalize their child custody issues.

In this unfolding drama, St. Clair alleges she committed to several measures during her pregnancy as per Musk’s request to prevent their secret from coming out. This included restrictions on her movement, such as remaining inside her apartment. Musk allegedly transferred $2 million to her for covering expenses, though half of this amount was supposedly a loan.

Although St. Clair’s claim about her baby’s father was met with skepticism by the entrepreneur, recent developments suggest a high probability that Musk is indeed Romulus St. Clair’s biological father. Given birth in September 2024, St. Clair filed a lawsuit demanding single custody five months after. Despite Musk’s initial doubt about the baby’s paternity, recent discovery states a 99.9999% likelihood that the child is his.

Following St. Clair’s decision to sue for custody, Musk allegedly downsized the financial support intended for her. However, recent updates indicate that despite earlier doubts, he was open to discovering the truth about the child’s paternity. A noteworthy update was delivered by Labcorp four days ago, in which the likelihood of Musk being the child’s father was reported at an overwhelming 99.9999%.

Noteworthy is Musk’s long-standing reputation as a father figure with a crowd of children under his name. Musk started this journey with his former wife, Justine Wilson, with their son, Nevada, who tragically passed away in 2002 after just 10 weeks. The ex-couple also share twins Griffin and Vivian, both 20 years old, along with 19 year-old triplets named Kai, Saxon, and Damian. Musk’s relationship with Vivian is reportedly strained following negative comments she made about him.

Furthermore, Musk has fathered three children with Grimes and additionally, he has Strider and Azure, both 3, Arcadia, 1, and Seldon, of undisclosed age, with Shivon Zilis. Musk, in addition to sharing his children with Justine Wilson and Grimes, also co-parents Shivon Zilis’s children.

St. Clair recently alleged that she and Musk conceived Romulus while vacationing in St. Bart’s back in January 2024. Having mentioned her ovulation status, Musk supposedly reacted by asserting, “What are we waiting for?” They had conversations about potential parenthood before, with Musk urging her to “pick a name” for their future child.

There has been chatter about Musk’s preference for cesarean delivery, which he’s stated publicly as being more advantageous to a child’s brain size. But contrary to his wishes, St. Clair chose a different path and did not opt for cesarean for her childbirth.
