This initiative is underscored by the allocation of over $1 billion secured from nationwide opioid settlements. These funds will enhance access to treatment facilities, preventive measures, recovery services, and essential resources like naloxone for our responders on the front lines.
Given the pressing fentanyl epidemic, such critical investments serve dual purposes – rescuing those battling addictions and safeguarding first responders racing against time. However, these efforts will be in vain without the collaboration of all stakeholders.
