A young woman hailing from Pompano Beach, aged 25, is on the verge of facing numerous severe charges. These accusations come following police claims of her committing numerous robberies against various men in Miami-Dade County. She ostensibly purloined precious items such as lavish timepieces, pecuniary assets, and jewelry. According to the information received, she carried out these deeds after managing to find her way into their residences and hotel suites.
The woman, named Angelina Chenel Esty, reportedly turned herself in willingly to the Doral police station. This tactical move came about on Monday, subsequent to an array of probes that associated her with a minimum of three instances of theft stretching back to the month of March.
During one of these incidents, a gentleman reported to Doral police about an unsettling encounter he had with Esty. This meeting took place at a well-known social hotspot in Miami, the E11EVEN nightclub, dated back to March 10th. After meeting Esty here, he took the decision to invite her back to his residential apartment.
Post sharing a refreshment with Esty, the man claimed he fell grievously unwell and succumbed to unconsciousness. In an unnerving revelation, he found both his invaluable Rolex timepiece and Esty completely vanished when he resurfaced from his state of unconsciousness.
Surveillance footage gathered from around the scene as well as comprehensive interviews with potential eyewitnesses, including an Uber driver who confessed to transporting her away from the area, pointed at Esty being the primary suspect. This significant amount of evidence is what led to her identification.
Another startling event took place on March 22nd, wherein a gentleman informed Miami police that he made the acquaintance of two women. This incident happened at the Blackbird, situated in Brickell. Initially, these women were complete strangers to him, but later, after undergoing identification processes, they were determined to be Esty and her female accomplice.
He narrated to the police how he cordially invited them back to his personal dwelling, where they indulged in drinks till he lost consciousness. An uncanny sense of déjà vu was evidenced, as he woke up to find cash amounting to $8,000, an $11,000 Rolex, and a rare pair of sunglasses missing from his possession.
Police, following up on the investigation, reported that a female purse found deserted at the scene of crime contained ID documents, which allowed them to establish fresh leads. More importantly, the identified credentials in the purse belonged to no other person than Esty.
In a series of continued events, a third man reported being a victim on April 21. According to him, he met Esty in the lobby during his stay at the well-known Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach. She took the initiative and approached him, and later managed to enter his hotel suite where they shared drinks.
Similar to the previous episodes, after having a drink, the man lost consciousness. Upon awakening, he experienced a harsh sense of reality; Esty was no longer in the room and his valuable possessions, including his $20,000 Rolex watch and a diamond bracelet worth $10,000, were missing. As per the report, the narrative presented by this man was corroborated by the surveillance footage obtained from the hotel.
The concerning arrest of Esty occurred just three days following the detainment of another woman, who was captured with regard to a strikingly similar crime. As per the enforcement authorities, this woman, identified as 20-year-old Esther Torres, attacked two visiting tourists. After disabling them with pepper spray, she proceeded to loot their high-end watches along with their wallets. This unsettling event happened at different Miami Beach hotels in March.
The charges that Angelina Chenel Esty currently faces are quite grave. This includes two counts of thieving substantial amounts ranging between $20,000 and $100,000, classified as grand theft. Along with this, she also faces two allegations linked to burglary of an inhabited residence and a single count labeled as third-degree grand theft.
Post the completion of the arrest procedures, Esty was confined within the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. It is important to note that these are charges placed against her and she is to be considered innocent until proven guilty in court. However, the mounting evidence against her continues to pose a strong case for the prosecution.
