NFL Legend Brian Urlacher Slams Trans Inclusion in Girls’ Sports: “It’s Just Not Fair”

Chicago Bears Hall of Famer Brian Urlacher is weighing in on the heated debate over transgender athletes in girls’ sports, calling it an issue of fairness and common sense. In a recent interview on the Global View podcast, Urlacher didn’t hold back, saying, “Why is it even a debate? A woman is a woman and a man is a man. You’re born with what you’re born with.”

Urlacher cited recent examples of biological males dominating in women’s competitions, including a transgender high school pitcher in Minnesota who racked up 14 straight wins and earned All-State honors. “It’s just different because we are men,” he said. “It’s not fair. If I had a daughter who had to compete against a man, I would not be okay with it.”

The former linebacker voiced strong support for President Trump’s executive order banning biological males from competing in girls’ and women’s sports, calling it “common sense” and saying, “It’s about time someone stood up for our daughters.”

Urlacher’s comments come as Illinois and several other states face growing backlash over school sports policies that allow biological males to compete in girls’ events. In one recent incident, a seventh-grade girls’ track meet sparked controversy after a male athlete competed and placed, prompting outrage from parents and scrutiny from federal officials.

The broader national debate continues to intensify, with critics arguing that allowing transgender athletes to compete in female divisions undermines years of progress in women’s sports. Supporters of inclusion argue for equality and anti-discrimination, but Urlacher says that line of thinking misses the bigger picture.

“This isn’t about hate,” he said. “It’s about protecting fairness. Women’s sports exist for a reason—and that reason is being erased one policy at a time.”

As the debate rages on, Urlacher has joined a growing list of prominent athletes and public figures calling for clearer boundaries and stronger protections for female athletes. For many, the question isn’t whether everyone deserves respect—it’s whether biological differences should be ignored when competition is on the line.
