Starting approximately at 1:15pm GMT, users began to confront issues, impacting over 11,000 individuals at the peak of the problem. Most of these affected were unable to access the application effectively, representing an area of concern for Twitter’s vast user community. This incident marks the second consecutive occurrence, with users having witnessed similar inconveniences the day before.

Comments from the user base reflect the broader sentiments of frustration and disappointment. Firefighters arrived at the center around 10 in the morning to combat a fire in a room filled with batteries, presumably involved in the incident.

While the fire was controlled without affecting the other sections of the building, the room was filled with smoke. High concentrations of these reports seem to be coming from major UK cities including London, Birmingham, and Cardiff.

In addition to this, users received an error message stating ‘Unable to fetch posts at this moment. The majority of users affected by this issue have stated experiencing issues loading the Twitter application on their devices. The website was also inaccessible for some, with several users experiencing login troubles. The issue was widespread, reaching a peak with over 11,800 individuals reporting issues on Downdetector.

The difficulties started around 1pm on the same day, suggesting that there may be potential links or systemic issues that extend beyond mere coincidence. Until these issues are resolved and their root cause found, the trust of Twitter’s userbase remains at stake.

While Twitter is actively trying to resolve the issues and reassuring users of their efforts, the continuity in accessing a platform as integral as Twitter has undeniably been disrupted.
