During a multi-party mission spearheaded by BJP MP Baijayant Panda, Asaduddin Owaisi, a leading figure of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), engaged in an open discussion with influential individuals in Bahrain. In the conversation, Owaisi expressly identified Pakistan as a ‘failed state’, pointing out the enduring challenges faced by India intensified by Pakistan’s hostile actions.
Owaisi emphasized, ‘We are here as representatives of our government… with the objective to make everyone aware of the persistent threat India has been contending with for countless years. Regrettably, these ongoing hostilities have led to the loss of numerous innocent lives. The epicenter of this issue lies within Pakistan.’
With conviction, he expressed that unless and until Pakistan ceases its support and sponsorship of terrorist organizations, this issue will persist. He brought to light the Indian government’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding its civilians, reminding everyone that India will staunchly respond should Pakistan continue with its belligerent tactics.
Owaisi drew attention to the extensive measures taken by the Indian government towards ensuring the security of every resident. He sternly warned that should Pakistan engage in further reckless actions, the aftermath will surpass their expectations.
He highlighted that, notwithstanding considerable provocations, India has consistently demonstrated remarkable restraint. In vivid detail, Owaisi recounted an attack in Pahalgam that resulted in the death of 26 tourists, underlining the devastating human toll of terrorism.
Referring to the Pahalgam incident, he profoundly stated, ‘Consider the human catastrophe that unfolded in this atrocious attack. A woman, barely a week into her wedded life, turned into a widow within a day. Another woman, only two months into her marriage, suffered a similar fate, losing her husband in the attack.’
Underlining India’s defensive prowess, Owaisi asserted, ‘India is fully equipped with all necessary resources and capacities to guarantee the safety and security of not only Indians but all individuals residing in the country.’
Further, he pointed out that India’s air defence systems have successfully warded off threats originating across the border. He praised the synergy of the government, media, advanced defence mechanisms, and military capabilities in thwarting and neutralizing assaults from a failing state like Pakistan.
Calling for international unity, Owaisi stressed the importance of halting terrorist financing. He appealed to the Bahrain government to join the effort to reinstate Pakistan on the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) grey list, implying that such funds have been misappropriated for terrorist activities.
He affirmed, ‘Irrespective of political differences and affiliations, there is a consensus within our country. Despite any internal political dissent, when it comes to our nation’s integrity, it is crucial for our neighboring country to comprehend the indomitable spirit of India. I thereby request the Bahrain government to support us in returning Pakistan to the FATF grey list. This is crucial as these funds have been exploited to back terrorist operations.’
The mission aims to enlighten international partners about India’s reaction to the Pahalgam attack on April 22, emphasizing its broader campaign against trans-border terrorism. During this journey, the delegation is poised to engage with leaders from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Algeria.
This multi-party delegation is made up of seven groups, each led by a Member of Parliament, and it has been organized to combat widespread misinformation, throwing light on India’s unwavering stand against terrorism.
