Biden’s Administration: A Path towards the New Serfdom

Consider the contemporary abandonment of universal liberty by the majority of those constituting the professional, intellectual, and governmental strata. The existing administration, headed by Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, demands that diligent taxpayers pay for those who opt for idleness, while simultaneously showering Wall Street moguls with subsidies for inefficient Net-Zero Green Energy initiatives. Not to mention the financial support given to unauthorized immigrants and the NGOs responsible for their arrival.

In 2014, our own USAID was implicated in funding the CIA-led toppling of Ukraine’s legitimate government, instigating the ongoing Russia/Ukraine conflict, leading to the tragic loss of over one million lives. The distressing influence of the current leadership doesn’t end there. American taxpayers found themselves unwillingly subsidizing Medicaid benefits for 1.4 million unauthorized individuals, while around $4.7 Trillion vanished into the shadowy domain of ‘unknown.’

These financial atrocities continue, with evidence of $14 Billion in uncovered Medicaid fraud exposed just this May alone. Attempts were even made to force the ordinary taxpayers to bear the burden of college loans. Consequently, legal US citizens are saddled with an iniquitous debt of $110,000 each, contributing to our staggering national debt toll of $36 Trillion, whereas unauthorized immigrants are conspicuously exempt.

Welcome, then, to the ‘New Serfdom’ brought about by obscure powers that have you working tirelessly for their benefit. The term ‘Road to Serfdom’ was first introduced by European economist Friedrich von Hayek in the early 20th century. Hayek witnessed firsthand the socialist struggles transpiring between the Communists and Fascists in Europe, and his concept was a cautionary message of the impending disaster of socialist ideologies.

The fundamental principles of the United States align with Classic Liberalism, which is diametrically opposed to what coincidentally is known as Modern Liberalism. The former emphasizes a constitutionally restrained government unable to infringe upon individual liberties, a principle still championed faithfully by American Conservatives.

In contrast, the latter – Modern Liberalism, surreptitiously promotes the obscurity of a governing body, asserting that the resolution of all worldly issues is but a surrender away to the so-called enlightened elites. This surrendering is, of course, a far cry from the empowerment of citizens that Classic Liberalism aims to accomplish.

Von Hayek characterized such misguided trust in an elite group’s ability to orchestrate society more efficiently than its subtle, organic structuring as ‘Fatal Conceit.’ Soviet Union and Eastern Europe’s tragic histories of socialist central planning serve as the perfect yet harrowing validation of Von Hayek’s term.

In opposition, American Conservatism – or Classic Liberalism, acknowledges that no individual or group can outperform the autonomous decisions of the people, freely navigating their way through the marketplace of ideas, goods, and services. In a terrifying development, however, Modern Liberals have imposed upon us an unaccountable Deep State, which is a vast expanse of unruly government agencies aimed at controlling every aspect of our lives.

Tacit evidence of this state control appears in various forms. From the COVID pandemic, perplexing climate initiatives, corrupt energy policies, the infiltration of inappropriate content in schools, to the undercurrent of racial theories, diversity equity and inclusion (DEI) policies, and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues. Resistance to conforming to these impositions comes with punitive measures: cancellation, litigation, and a stifling of any dissenting voice.

This condescending sentiment of Modern Liberals towards hardworking Americans often manifests in derogatory terms such as referring to them as ‘deplorables’ or ‘bitter clingers.’ The aim, it seems, is to create a compliant workforce, effortlessly manipulated and subservient to their whims. Such behavior quite frankly suggests a calculated push for actual Fascism, coupled with a brazenly hypocritical disparagement of others.

Our founding fathers explicitly designed the Declaration and the Constitution to prevent the government from becoming oppressors and to eliminate any semblance of feudal serfdom. Alas, it seems these principles have been utterly neglected, twisted by Modern Liberals into a ‘New Serfdom’ aimed at undermining the Constitution in the most dreadfully ironic manner.

Astoundingly, despite the traumatic lessons learnt from socialism after World War 2, most of Eastern Europe today is contesting the European Union’s attempt to establish their own ‘New Serfdom.’ It appears that the frightful memories of the socialist nightmare are still too fresh in the minds of Eastern Europeans.

Buoyed by a wilful ignorance of historical lessons, Modern Liberals resolutely persist in their assault on liberty. Their newfound weapon is ‘Stakeholder Capitalism,’ an antithesis to Free-Market Capitalism, which is arguably nothing more than a rebranding of Mussolini’s Corporatism on a global scale.

In this ‘New Serfdom,’ the shots are called not by consumers in free markets, but by left-wing ideologues from the upper echelon conferences at Davos. A constant theme echoes: while the ‘Leftist’ along with Wall Street complain vociferously about tariffs, they remain conspicuously mute about considerably larger tariffs inflicted on US goods by foreign nations. The depth of systemic corruption and incompetency within the US Government has been blatantly exposed through recent audits, leaving the Left to desperately cling onto their gravy train of freebies.
