Musk Condemns Trump’s Regulatory Proposal as ‘Profoundly Illogical’

Entrepreneur Elon Musk has intensified his condemnation of Donald Trump’s regulatory proposal, labeling it ‘profoundly illogical and harmful.’ Musk, widely known as the founder of Tesla and SpaceX, played a significant part in Trump’s election campaign last year. Musk even ventured to the point that Trump wouldn’t have managed to edge out Kamala Harris in the presidential race without his involvement.

The pioneer behind SpaceX was brought on board by Trump to spearhead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), with the core mission of pruning superfluous government expenditure. Nevertheless, Musk recently resigned from his role, vehemently criticizing Trump’s regulatory plan, which he referred to as an ‘atrocity’ that sought to dismantle the progress achieved during his tenure at DOGE.

Dismissing Musk’s claims, Trump expressed his disappointment with the visionary technopreneur asserting that Musk was fully acquainted with the particulars of the proposed regulation prior to his exit. Musk riposted on Twitter, hinting at a connection between Trump and the controversial Jeffrey Epstein saga in now-erased tweets; a move met with an official White House response denouncing it as an ‘unfortunate Musk episode.’

Acknowledging his actions, Musk confessed to experiencing ‘regrets’, confessing that certain posts ‘crossed the line.’ After a seeming period of reduced activity, Musk ventured onto the Twitter stage to air his political views, notably doing so on Saturday (June 28), in sync with his 54th birthday.

Musk did not mince words about his displeasure with Trump’s proposed regulation at a critical juncture before a vital vote that could give it life. He raised concerns about the devastating impact of the current draft of the Senate bill on the U.S job market and strategic interests. Musk posted, ‘This upcoming Senate draft regulation will demolish countless American jobs and inflict colossal strategic damage on our nation. Complete madness and ruinous.’

He emphasized that the proposed law favors traditional industries at the expense of emerging ones. In a subsequent tweet, Musk further proclaimed, ‘Survey data indicate this regulation is a political death sentence for the Republican Party.’ At this juncture, the Senate propelled proceedings with a vote of 51-49 to commence discussions on the proposed law, an act that Trump enthused about as a ‘significant victory.’

As the dust barely begins to settle on the Musk-Trump public showdown, Trump reassured his supporters that he doesn’t harbor any resentment towards Musk. ‘Indeed, I could patch up the situation with him, but my focus now should be on setting things right in the country. My main responsibility currently involves re-establishing this nation to reach heights never seen before. And I believe we can make it.’ Trump noted.

Addressing press queries on the prospects of both high-profile personalities mending fences, the president declared in the Oval Office, ‘Probably it’s over, yes. There are more pressing matters that require my attention.’ As the discord continues, with Musk unrelenting in his criticism, the possibility of a reunion between the erstwhile ‘closest companions’ seems unlikely.
