On that harrowing night, the federal agent, aged 42, was quietly sitting on a rock near the Hudson River in Fort Washington Park, with his female companion. Their tranquil moment was shattered by a sudden ambush from two men on a moped.
A brief encounter ensued, during which one of the suspects callously fired at the federal agent, hitting him in the face and left forearm. Even with his injuries, the officer mustered enough courage to take out his own gun and fire back.
