Lawrence Gibbons, a 48-year-old man from the same city, is being examined under charges related to a previous incident that took place within this month.

The numerous charges against Gibbons comprise two instances of aggravated harassment, which have been classified as a hate crime, acting in a manner that put a child’s welfare at risk, and resisting arrest by the authorities.

These implications owe their origin to a disruptive event that had occurred at a business located on Foote Avenue on the aforementioned date of the 20th of July.

Jamestown’s Police unit received a call at 11:35 in the morning, which led them to this location where there was a report of an individual causing a disturbance.

Additionally, during the suspect’s chaotic display, he was reported to have been hurling racial slurs towards the victims, as described by the police’s official statement.

The suspect, Gibbons, was eventually located not far from the scene of the disturbance.

Upon their encounter, officers notified him of his status as a suspect under arrest, to which he impulsively fled from the crowd of law enforcement.

Following a relatively short chase on foot immediately after his attempt at escape, the officers managed to apprehend Gibbons, ensuing in his arrest without an additional need for excessive force.

Following the arrest, Gibbons was escorted to the local jail where he was kept in custody while awaiting his arraignment.

A lookup in the New York State’s electronic court filing system on the subsequent Saturday revealed Gibbons has been scheduled to make an appearance in Jamestown City Court on the 1st of August.

On record, it has been noted that Gibbons shall be defended by a lawyer during the legal proceedings.
