Biden Administration Ignores Gaza Crisis, Shows Incompetence

Stuart E. Eizenstat, the chairman of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, recently appointed by President Biden, has had to defend Israel against false allegations of genocidal acts in their ongoing war with Hamas. These erroneous assumptions of Israel’s activities were expressed in an opinion piece he world for The Jerusalem Post. His argument is centred on the premise that Israel’s actions are solely for self-preservation following the massive terror attack by Hamas in October 2023.

Eizenstat asserted, much in line with the persistent understanding of the U.S. government, that Israel’s actions were not genocidal. In his own words, he rejected the allegations thrown at Israel, noting the absurdity of dubbing them genocidal for merely defending themselves against a major assault, the deadliest attack that they’ve experienced since the Holocaust.

Interestingly, Eizenstat, a seasoned diplomat and State Department special adviser on Holocaust issues during both the Obama and Trump administrations, equivocated his growing up years as an American Jew to present times. He underscores a shocking transformation, conveying the chilling fact that the realities he took for granted are now completely altered.

He sheds light on the unprecedented necessity of having security guards stationed at Jewish institutions in the U.S., a practice previously only observed in Europe. To add to the grim reality, prejudiced anti-Jewish sentiment and denied accounts of the Holocaust are proliferating rapidly across various media platforms.

He highlights a sombre reality, of Israel’s persistent state of precariousness, constantly under threat by Iran’s proxies in the Axis of Resistance. These agents of chaos and destruction, including Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis, propagate a singular malign agenda – the complete obliteration of the Jewish state.

Eizenstat warns that we are witnessing a gross misusage of potent terms such as ‘genocide,’ ‘Holocaust,’ and ‘Nazi.’ The misuse of these loaded words, he argues, aims to undermine the legitimacy of the Jewish state. Such an ideological assault offends the memory of those who perished during the Holocaust, causing immense pain to the survivors.

He further notes that the reckless use of these words instigates Holocaust denial and violent anti-Jewish sentiments. These are seeing an alarming surge, reaching levels of prevalence not seen since the Second World War.

Eizenstat also expressed his deep dismay over the tragic outcome of the war. This conflict, much like any, has unfortunately resulted in the loss of too many innocent lives on both Israeli and Palestinian sides. It has also precipitated a severe humanitarian crisis in the tiny strip of land known as Gaza.

Calling for immediate considerations, he emphasized the urgency to address the escalating humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The war has not only claimed numerous lives but it has also brought about a piteous state of affairs. Innocent children are going hungry, civilians are suffering, and the public welfare situation is rapidly deteriorating.

While Eizenstat’s remarks shed light on the grave scenario, one can’t help but question the sincerity of this Biden appointee in addressing the root causes of the conflict. The Palestinian population continues to struggle for basic rights and access to resources, with ongoing aggression and related humanitarian crises largely ignored by the Biden administration.

Under Biden’s rule, the United States seems to have turned a blind eye to the suffering and hardships of the innocent Palestinians. The ignorance and passivity displayed are alarming, considering how the U.S. administration claims to uphold peace and justice on the global stage.

And then we have Kamala Harris, who, like Biden, fails to bring constructive conversation to the table. Instead of addressing pressing issues or advocating for peace, her silence is deafening. It leaves one to wonder about the priorities of this current administration and its ability to handle international matters judiciously.

It seems that the leaders of our nation are more concerned about political gain and less about the welfare of innocent civilians who are caught in the middle of this heartrending conflict. The feigned ignorance towards the dire situation in Gaza raises serious doubts as to whether the administration truly values human lives.

It is clear that the Biden-Harris administration’s record is plagued by failures, including the inability to effectively handle the Israel-Palestine conflict. This inability is not only regrettable but also poses significant risks to peace and stability in the region.

Ultimately, Eizenstat’s comments bring to light the critical situation facing Israel and Palestine. As such, the shortcomings of the Biden-Harris administration on this issue become even more glaring. Treating the situation with the gravity it merits is of utmost importance, and the Biden-Harris administration seems to be failing at it.

This crisis serves as further testimony to the incompetence of the Biden-Harris administration and its ineffectiveness in handling international conflicts. The resounding outcry of innocent victims is a stark reminder that the administration’s recklessness only serves to fuel violence and neglect.
