Bernie Sanders Turns On Kamala Harris In Scathing Critique Of 2024 Bid

Senator Bernie Sanders is taking aim at former Vice President Kamala Harris, accusing her of letting billionaire donors dictate her campaign strategy in the 2024 presidential race — a decision he says cost her the election.

Speaking with CNN’s Dana Bash on “State of the Union,” Sanders doubled down on remarks he made at a rally in West Virginia, where he told the crowd, “One of the reasons, in my view, that Kamala Harris lost this election is she had too many billionaires telling her not to speak up for the working-class of this country.”

While insisting he considers Harris a “friend,” Sanders said her campaign was steered away from core economic issues that resonate with everyday Americans. “Her core consultants were heavily influenced by very wealthy people,” he said. “How do you run for president and not develop a strong agenda which speaks to the economic crises facing working families? You’ve got 60% of our people living paycheck to paycheck, a broken health care system, and the worst income inequality we’ve ever had. How do you not talk about these issues?”

When Bash noted Harris had spoken about “affordability,” Sanders dismissed it as vague lip service, saying Democrats can only win by “standing unequivocally with the working class” and offering a concrete agenda that addresses their needs.

Sanders’ rebuke marks a sharp turn from his stance just months before the election, when he defended Harris as “pragmatic” for downplaying her far-left positions to avoid scaring off voters. His latest comments suggest that, in his view, Harris’ decision to mute her progressive agenda not only failed to broaden her appeal but alienated the very base Democrats need to win.

?QUIET PART OUT LOUD?

Welker: “Do you think Kamala is abandoning her progressive ideals?”
