Trump Weaponization Czar Puts January 6 Committee Associates On Notice

The Trump administration’s weaponization czar, Ed Martin, warned on Sunday that individuals tied to the January 6 Committee who did not receive last-minute pardons from Joe Biden may soon face scrutiny. Speaking on Fox News at the end of an interview with Maria Bartiromo, Martin signaled that accountability is coming for members of the Democrat-led panel.

BARTIROMO: What about the January 6 committee? Did they destroy evidence? Is there criminality there?

ED MARTIN: Of course. Trust me, a lot of people did not get a pardon that were involved in the select committee, and they ought to be keeping an eye on their mailbox. pic.twitter.com/xRelaTtlyp

“Of course. We’re all in that, too,” Martin said when asked whether there was potential criminality connected to the committee’s actions. “And, trust me, a lot of people did not get a pardon that were involved in the select committee, and they ought to be keeping an eye on their mailbox, because there’s a lot to be asked about.”

In one of his final acts before leaving office, Biden had issued sweeping pardons to lawmakers, staffers, and Capitol Police officers linked to the committee. Biden claimed his action was meant to shield them from what he called “baseless and politically motivated investigations,” insisting that even false allegations could cause irreparable harm.

But Martin, who also serves as pardon attorney under Attorney General Pam Bondi, cast doubt on how those pardons were handled, raising questions about the use of autopen signatures and whether Biden’s aides improperly processed the paperwork to hide the president’s health troubles. “It was not like anything in the history of America what Joe Biden — not Joe Biden, his staffers did, not just with the autopen, but with faking him out on the memos,” Martin alleged.

He added that the Justice Department is actively probing the committee’s handling of evidence, whether any material was destroyed, and the legitimacy of the pardons themselves. “Pam Bondi has let us loose, and when this comes out, it’ll take the whole of these people’s hoaxes down,” Martin said. “We’re doing it bit by bit. And it’s fantastic. It’s a great privilege.”

The remarks mark the clearest sign yet that Trump’s Justice Department intends to revisit not just the committee’s conclusions but also the conduct of those who spearheaded it, suggesting that the panel once responsible for trying to damage Trump’s presidency could now find itself under the microscope.
