LSU Recruit Lindsey Suspended Amidst Serious Legal Accusations

A fresh recruit to Louisiana State University’s football team, JT Lindsey, has been temporarily removed from squad activities following legal accusations against him. His legal counsel relayed this news to The Advocate during the weekend. Lindsey is allegedly involved in the facilitation of a second-degree murder suspect’s evasion of arrest by providing them shelter. The claim states that the running back hosted these individuals in the aftermath of the crime, which occurred in Alexandria, Louisiana, around the end of the prior month.

According to the claim presented by law enforcement, Lindsey provided accommodation to the two murder suspects within his dormitory space. In a turn of events last Friday, Lindsey was apprehended subsequent to submitting himself to law enforcement. Lindsey’s arrest followed a warrant issued by the Louisiana State University Police Department.

Kris Perret, Lindsey’s legal representative, put forth a defensive stance about this case. He asserted that Lindsey was unaware of the fact that the pair, who are in their teenage years, were suspect in a murder case or involved in any illicit activities. Perret strongly argues against the assertion that Lindsey knowingly harbored criminals.

His legal counsel further conveyed that given knowledge of the pair’s criminal status, Lindsey would not have provided them lodging. This statement comes in light of the arrest of these individuals, which took place last Monday. Lindsey himself, according to his counsel, has not been implicated in the actual commission of the crime under investigation, but simply in aiding the individuals implicated after the fact.

However, solidifying the prosecution’s case, surveillance footage reportedly shows the LSU newcomer and the two teenage suspects entering and exiting his dormitory several times. The contents of a legal affidavit detail these activities, accentuating the gravity of the situation Lindsey finds himself in.

The two individuals thought to be the recipients of Lindsey’s unassuming hospitality have been identified as Shemell Jacobs, 17, and Keldrick Jordan, 18. These two are currently suspects in a murder case under active investigation.

These teenagers have been on the Alexandria Police Department’s wanted list since last May. They are suspected for the homicide of Corey Brooks, who was also 17 years old. The nature of Brooks’ untimely demise was found to be a gunshot wound.

Culminating the police pursuit, Jacobs and Jordan were apprehended at the housing facility of LSU, named Nicholson Gateway Apartments on Monday. During the operation by US Marshals, it was discovered that Jacobs was in possession of an identification card, which apparently belonged to Lindsey.
