Sometimes, certain occupations allow their holders to remain employed despite repeated failures. A noteworthy example of such jobs is considered to be a Democratic political position. The media often protects Democratic leaders when they’re in power by shaping narratives in favor of them. However, during Donald Trump’s presidency, reality shattered many left-leaning views daily, with proven facts leaving undeniable marks on their accounts.
Consider Trump’s introduction of tariffs. ‘Experts’ boldly predicted these would spark significant global crises and quickly inflate prices. Yet, in reality, we observed a quite different aftermath. The anticipated international disputes didn’t come to fruition as many countries agreed to revise their trade agreements in response to increased import tariffs.
For example, in just the month of July, Trump’s tariffs generated $29.6 billion in revenue. Tracking from the last year to now, the fiscal year 2025 alone has seen an influx of an approximate $156.4 billion due to these tariffs. Surprisingly for many, rather than causing inflation, the tariffs coincided with a decrease in inflation, which hit a four-year low earlier this summer, despite the worrisome rise during Biden’s administration.
Migration policy is another area where Democrats’ predictions failed to materialize. Despite claiming the border security was ‘under control’ during Biden’s regime, Trump’s actions proved quite effective. He enforced the closure of the southern border and stringent immigration laws, leading to arrests and deportations of illegal immigrants causing significant crimes on US soil.
Trump’s immigration policies yielded notable results. July 2025 recorded the lowest number of illegal border crossings ever reported by Customs and Border Protection. For the third consecutive month, not a single illegal immigrant was released into the US. Reports suggest around 100,000 illegal immigrants have been deported and approximately a million have allegedly self-deported.
Along with its association to job losses, violent crimes, and both human and drug trafficking, illegal immigration has more recently introduced new problems into public consideration. For instance, Harjinder Singh—a non-native English speaker and illegal immigrant—received a commercial driver’s license in California, despite his obvious challenges with the English language. Subsequently, Singh caused a fatal collision in Florida, raising the public’s questions about the issuance of such licenses to illegal immigrants.
Generally, the Democrats’ understanding of Trump’s foreign policies has been notably mistaken. Contrary to their cries of impending war, Trump has actively participated in resolving international disputes. He has brokered ceasefires between warring nations, ended border disputes, and secured commitments to future peace treaties.
Trump’s landmark achievement in this domain was the historic peace agreement between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. More recently, he hosted Russia’s President, Vladimir Putin, in Alaska, aiming towards a peaceful resolution to Russia’s bloody conflict with Ukraine. Shortly after this visit, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the White House, marking an unprecedented display of trans-Atlantic unity.
Trump’s approach aims to leverage this unity in conjunction with his renowned negotiating skills in hopes of achieving a peace agreement between Putin and Zelenskyy. He is also determined to resolve the two-year conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, despite its notorious complexity.
Trump previously proposed transforming the Gaza strip into a Mediterranean resort area, a suggestion met with heavy criticism. Critics have also pointed out that peace agreements brokered thus far are fragile and unresolved problems linger in these nations. These rejections, however, bypass two essential points.
First, peace deals, especially those between warring nations, are naturally elusive and delicate during early stages. Second, Trump’s assertive use of power and influence in constructing these agreements symbolizes a vital diplomacy step. Surely, a president keen on fostering entrepreneurship, economic growth and peace is more favorable than one focusing on profiteering from covert ops or munitions sales.
Democrats’ misunderstanding extends beyond Trump’s tariffs and immigration or foreign policies. They seem not only to be wrong about many of Trump’s initiatives, but they also appear to be cognizant of their mistaken views. It seems as if they lack a compelling economic message and are more focused on upholding the rights of illegal immigrants over those of American citizens and their families.
James Carville, a prominent Democratic strategist, recently participated in a Fox News show hosted by Jesse Watters. Despite his reputed eloquence, Carville failed to answer Watters’ questions satisfactorily. Notably, he couldn’t explain why significant Democratic figures such as Bill and Hillary Clinton, Kamala Harris, and Gavin Newsom declined invitations to appear on a leftist talk show hosted by Bill Maher.
Rather than provide substantial answers, Carville shared vague predictions of the Democrats’ success in the 2026 elections and the strength of their presidential candidate for the 2028 race. Carville, however, couldn’t elaborate on the details. This evasion underscores the current crisis within the Democratic Party, suggesting a debilitating lack of direction.
The inability of key Democratic figures like Carville to justifiably defend the Democratic National Committee’s policy platforms points to a larger problem. It seems indicative of a faltering leadership, unable to navigate the Party through the political landscape. If they are so fundamentally wrong about many aspects of governance, it begs the question – what is their core strategy?
With such a myriad of misled notions and a seeming inability to acknowledge and learn from their faults, it seems even the Democrats themselves are unsure of their future direction. This strays far from a solid strategy for a major political party and leaves them grasping for their identity amid misconceptions and failed predictions.
