Harrison’s Hilarious Denial: DNC Couldn’t Stop Biden’s 2024 Flop?

A recent episode of ‘The Breakfast Club’ saw the iconic radio host, Charlamagne tha God, challenge the ex-chairperson of the Democratic National Committee, Jaime Harrison. Their hot topic debate revolved around Harrison’s apparent reluctance to lobby for Joe Biden’s 2024 reelection bid cessation. Biden himself decided to step down only on July 21, 2024, after a poor debate performance a month earlier brought substantial party pressure to halt his campaign.

Proclaiming his objections candidly, Charlamagne questioned Harrison’s statement dismissing the notion of the DNC being the puppet master guiding the party’s presidential pick. Rebuffing Harrison’s dismissive one-liner which deemed such thought ‘a bunch of baloney’, Charlamagne victoriously claimed ‘That’s not baloney… You can tell the truth.’

Despite persistent claims of transparency by Harrison, his confusion regarding his influence as the former DNC chair seemed dubious at best. He questioned his authority in the decision-making process, saying ‘If I’m the DNC chair, what power do I have to pick?’ He even shrugged off the notion that he could have influenced Biden’s decision to run.

Charlamagne quickly responded with a dose of reality. ‘You could have and should have,’ he spat bitterly, indicating that Harrison’s inaction might have been the Democratic Party’s fatal misstep. In response, Harrison weakly countered with the possibility that Biden might not have heeded his advice, even if he had the gall to speak up.

Unfortunately for Biden, it was not Charlamagne alone who voiced such concerns. His eventual capitulation to bow out of the race showed the effectiveness of pressure applied on him from his own members. Implying how the slow response by responsible individuals could have saved the Democratic Party from an embarrassing situation, Charlamagne lashed out, ‘Everybody should have told him earlier.’

Harrison, on the other hand, tried to redeem Biden by stating that his decision to step aside was to prevent fissures within the Democratic Party. Yet, Charlamagne showcased the general sentiment of those who felt Biden’s age was an obstacle. He slammed Harrison with ‘That man was too old. Everybody knew he was too old.’ He argued that Biden should have only served as a transitionary president initially.

Rather than absorbing the blows, Harrison hit back, expressing disappointment in Democrats for not standing up against Biden’s candidacy. Harrison contended, ‘Somebody should have stepped up… If people thought that Joe Biden was too old, then some real people should have stepped up and said, ‘You know what? I’m going to run.”

Yet, Charlamagne noted the unsuccessful bid of Dean Phillips, a former Democratic representative from Minnesota. He argued that the Democrats shunned him out of Biden’s way, despite his efforts to challenge the aged president’s reign.

Harrison ridiculously dismissed Phillips as a ‘not serious’ challenger. Charlamagne, however, pointed out that the seriousness of the candidate was beside the point, revealing yet another pitfall in the Democratic Party’s candidate selection process.

Opposition came not only from within the Democratic Party but also from Republicans and voters across the spectrum. Many questioned Biden’s physical health in the lead-up to the 2020 campaign, revealing a history of long-standing doubts.

Harrison wasn’t alone in his folly, with many Democrats fervently backing Biden’s reelection quest in 2024. Bird-brained followers even chanted, ‘Four more years!’ during the former president’s address in March 2024 at the State of the Union.

It’s obvious that the Democratic organization seems to live in a bubble, blissfully ignorant of Biden’s glaring inadequacies. One can only imagine what it might take for a dose of harsh reality to perforate their seemingly impenetrable shield of ignorance and misguided trust in dated leadership.

In sum, the saga of Biden’s failed 2024 reelection bid is a stark reminder of the perils of blind loyalty. The Democratic Party’s reluctance to address Biden’s evident shortcomings undoubtedly paved the way for their embarrassing predicament. Here’s a lesson for them – better late than never.
