Mark Hamill is once again throwing a tantrum over the fact that President Donald Trump won a second term — this time declaring on a podcast that he’s “really ashamed” of the country that elected him.
Speaking on the “WTF with Marc Maron” podcast, the Star Wars actor fumed that Trump’s re-election wasn’t just a fluke — it was the fault of the American people.
“It’s one thing for him to have sneaked by the first time — when he got re-elected, that’s on us,” Hamill said. “That’s [what] I’m really ashamed of — because I always thought there are more decent Americans, honest Americans than there are others.”
Hamill said he now feels like he’s “in the minority” in his own country, lamenting that Americans chose Trump again despite his personal political preferences.
This isn’t the first time Hamill lost it over Trump’s win. On November 6, 2024, as it became clear that Trump had secured re-election, Hamill posted on social media: “They say we get the leaders we deserve. Either that has just been disproven, or this is not the America we all thought we were living in.”
Threatened to Flee the Country — Then Didn’t
In an interview with The Times of London, Hamill admitted he briefly considered fleeing the United States. According to the paper, he gave his wife an ultimatum after the election: London or Ireland.
“She’s very clever,” Hamill said. “She didn’t respond right away, but a week later she said, ‘I’m surprised you would allow him to force you out of your own country.’ That son of a b—-, I thought. I’m not leaving.”
Despite the drama, Hamill stayed right where he was — and now he’ll get to enjoy the booming economy, strong borders, and record-low inflation under Trump’s second term.
White House Responds
A White House spokeswoman didn’t hold back when asked to respond to Hamill’s performative outrage.
“Since Mark has decided to stay in the United States, he will get to enjoy the many wins President Trump is securing for the American people — and really, who can blame him for second-guessing a plan to move to the same place as Rosie O’Donnell.”
