Hamas Says It Will Release All Hostages, But Rejects Core Terms Of Trump’s Peace Plan

Hamas said Friday it is prepared to release all remaining hostages it is holding in Gaza — but the terror group stopped short of agreeing to President Donald Trump’s sweeping 20-point peace plan.

In a statement, Hamas agreed to turn hostages over “according to the exchange formula contained in President Trump’s proposal,” which calls for Israel to release 250 prisoners serving life sentences plus 1,700 other detainees held since the October 7, 2023 massacre. The group also said it was ready to transfer administration of Gaza to an independent Palestinian body and begin negotiations through mediators.

But Hamas refused to address Trump’s demand that it disarm, nor did it respond to the president’s offer of amnesty or safe passage for fighters who lay down their weapons. Without Hamas agreeing to those conditions, Israel may balk at freeing hundreds of convicted terrorists in return.

Trump issued a blunt warning Friday morning, saying Hamas has until 6:00 p.m. ET Sunday to accept the deal or face devastating consequences. “All HELL, like no one has ever seen before, will break out against Hamas,” Trump vowed, calling it the group’s “LAST CHANCE.”

The statement from Hamas comes after Qatar and Egypt praised Trump’s “sincere efforts to end the war in Gaza.” But with Hamas dragging its feet, U.S. and Israeli officials fear the group is buying time while under heavy military pressure.

Trump made clear the clock is ticking. “We know where they are hiding,” the president warned. “If they refuse, they will be hunted down, and killed.”
