President Donald Trump is gearing up for an all-out push to help Republicans dominate the 2026 midterm elections, according to White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles. In an appearance on “The Mom View,” a show hosted by Moms for America, Wiles said Trump is ready to hit the trail with the same intensity he brought to his historic 2024 campaign.
“I haven’t quite broken it to him yet, but he’s going to campaign like it’s 2024 again,” Wiles joked. “All these people that he helps — he doesn’t help everybody — but for those he does, he’s a difference maker, and he’s certainly a turnout machine.”
A Midterm Strategy Unlike Any Other
Wiles explained that the Trump administration will flip conventional midterm wisdom on its head. Traditionally, presidents remain mostly behind the scenes during midterm elections, allowing local candidates to take the spotlight and “localize” their races. But Trump’s massive appeal, particularly among working-class and rural voters, makes him a unique political force — one that Republicans are eager to deploy.
“Typically in the midterms, it’s not about who’s sitting at the White House,” Wiles said. “You localize the election, and you keep the federal officials out of it. We’re actually going to turn that on its head, and put him on the ballot, because so many of those low propensity voters are Trump voters.”
Sounding the Alarm After Democrat Gains
The announcement comes amid concern from conservatives following a disappointing off-year election season last month, which saw far-left victories in places like New York. Most notably, socialist candidate Zohran Mamdani pulled off a shock win in the New York City mayor’s race — a wake-up call for the GOP about what happens when Trump isn’t mobilizing the base.
“We saw … what happens when he’s not on the ballot and not active,” Wiles warned, underscoring the importance of Trump’s presence heading into 2026.
Fundraising Muscle and Relentless Energy
Wiles said Trump wasted no time after his 2024 re-election victory. He began raising funds for the midterms almost immediately, and is now sitting on a massive war chest that will be used to support candidates who align with his America First agenda.
“He’s sitting on a huge war chest to help these people. And he’ll use it,” she said. “Nobody can outwork him, so there’s every reason to be confident.”
Looking Ahead to 2026 and Beyond
With Republicans holding majorities in both the House and Senate, the 2026 midterms are shaping up to be a referendum on the Trump administration’s second-term agenda — and a key battleground for shaping the final years of his presidency.
By putting himself front and center in the midterms, Trump is not only trying to lock in Republican power but also reshape the political playbook for future administrations.
“He’ll be out there, state to state, district to district,” Wiles said. “And once again, he’ll prove why he’s the most effective political force in American history.”
