Federal authorities arrested Kyle Wagner, an alleged Antifa extremist accused of threatening violence against federal immigration officers in Minneapolis, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche announced Thursday. Officials say Wagner made multiple online statements calling for attacks on law enforcement and encouraging supporters to arm themselves.
“The Justice Department with ICE HSI arrested a self-identified anti-ICE Antifa terrorist in Minneapolis today,” Blanche said in a post on X. “Conspire and threaten to assault, kill and doxx officers, and you’ll find yourself in federal custody facing the full force of justice.”
According to federal officials, Wagner’s arrest comes after a series of posts and videos following the fatal shooting of anti-ICE activist Alex Pretti. Investigators say Wagner urged followers to abandon peaceful protest tactics and instead prepare for armed confrontation with law enforcement.
“Show up ready to go. Not talking about peaceful protests anymore,” Wagner allegedly said in one message, calling on supporters to march with guns and invoking the Second Amendment as protection against what he described as “Nazi gunmen.”
Authorities also pointed to multiple social media videos showing Wagner in various outfits, including women’s clothing. In one clip, Wagner said the clothing choice was personal, stating, “I do this all year, all the time. I do this for me.”
Investigators also allege Wagner used social media to solicit money from supporters, directing followers to a Venmo account described as an “emergency freedom and defense fund.” In posts reviewed by investigators, Wagner declined to explain how the money would be used but described the current situation as “a guerrilla war in our streets.”
Supporters reportedly sent money with notes expressing support for anti-ICE activism. Shortly after federal authorities began investigating, Wagner’s social media presence began disappearing. His Instagram account was deleted, and he was later removed from Facebook and TikTok.
Federal officials have not yet released full charging details but indicated Wagner could face serious federal charges related to threats against law enforcement and potential conspiracy offenses. The Justice Department said the case is part of a broader effort to crack down on threats and violence directed at federal officers operating in Minneapolis and other cities.
