Shia LaBeouf Released After Arrest in Mardi Gras Bar Fight

Actor Shia LaBeouf is out of jail after being arrested during a Mardi Gras incident in New Orleans that reportedly turned violent inside and outside a popular bar.

LaBeouf, 39, was taken into custody early Tuesday morning after being removed from R Bar. According to reports, he allegedly attacked a man after being escorted out of the establishment, then returned to the bar and displayed aggressive behavior before being restrained.

The Hollywood Reporter stated that LaBeouf allegedly assaulted the same individual a second time and then punched another man during the altercation. Authorities later booked him on simple battery charges.

He is scheduled to return to court on March 19 as the case proceeds. Law enforcement has not publicly released additional details about what sparked the confrontation.

The arrest comes as LaBeouf has faced past legal and personal struggles. Singer FKA twigs previously accused him of sexual battery and assault, allegations he denied. At the time, LaBeouf acknowledged issues with alcoholism and aggression, stating there were no excuses for his behavior.

The Mardi Gras incident has also raised questions about LaBeouf’s recent public claims of sobriety. The actor has not yet issued a public statement addressing the arrest.
