Trump Blasts California Vote Count As Spencer Pratt Falls Behind In LA Mayor’s Race

President Trump ripped California’s election process Sunday, calling the state’s primary elections “crooked” as reality television star Spencer Pratt slipped into third place in the Los Angeles mayoral race and Republicans continued waiting for final results in several key contests.

“Has anybody been watching the CROOKED Election going on in California,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

“Two great Republican Candidates are being cheated, and so is America, which if the Dumocrats are able to fulfill their mission, great trouble and consternation will follow.”

“Watch this ‘Election’ closely!!!”

The president doubled down Monday by reposting criticism from Arizona Republican Rep. Abe Hamadeh, who argued California’s election system is incapable of delivering timely and trustworthy results.

Trump specifically reacted to projections showing Los Angeles City Councilwoman Nithya Raman moving ahead of Pratt for a spot in the November runoff election.

“No way this could have happened. Rigged Election!” Trump wrote.

The criticism comes as California election officials continue processing hundreds of thousands of outstanding ballots nearly a week after polls closed.

Pratt, who held a significant advantage over Raman on election night, has steadily lost ground with each ballot update. His early lead of more than eight percentage points has completely disappeared, leaving him narrowly behind the progressive Democrat.

Prediction markets now overwhelmingly favor Raman to secure the second runoff position alongside incumbent Mayor Karen Bass.

Bass has already locked up first place and remains on track to advance comfortably to the November election.

Pratt highlighted the dramatic shift in vote totals on social media after reports showed more than 43,000 net votes had swung toward Raman since election night.

“A net swing of more than 43,000 votes since Tuesday… 43,000, huh? Where have I seen that number before?” Pratt wrote while sharing an article discussing Los Angeles homelessness figures.

The prolonged vote count has also become a major issue in California’s gubernatorial race.

Republican candidate Steve Hilton has repeatedly criticized the pace of ballot counting, calling the process a “shambles” and accusing state officials of incompetence.

“The world is laughing at our inability to count votes in a timely manner. Where is Gavin Newsom?” Hilton wrote on X.

“The snail-like pace of the vote counting process in California is just another example of the incompetence and uselessness of the state government.”

Hilton remains in a strong position to advance to the general election, holding a lead over billionaire Democrat Tom Steyer with roughly 72% of the vote counted.

Speaking on Fox News Sunday, Hilton expressed confidence that he will finish among the top two candidates and secure a place on the November ballot.

California election officials have defended the lengthy counting process, noting that every registered voter receives a mail ballot and that ballots postmarked by Election Day can continue arriving for several days afterward.

Officials must also verify signatures, process vote-by-mail ballots, and complete mandatory audits before results can be certified.

Under state law, counties have up to 30 days to complete the canvass and finalize results. Final vote totals are scheduled to be submitted to the California Secretary of State by July 3 before certification one week later.

The ongoing delays have become a political flashpoint as Republicans argue the system undermines voter confidence, while election officials maintain the process is designed to ensure every valid ballot is counted accurately.
