RFK Jr., Dr. Oz Sound Alarm After More Than 1 Million Obamacare Enrollees Found Without Social Security Numbers

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz revealed that more than one million people enrolled in Obamacare exchange plans do not have Social Security numbers on file, raising concerns about fraud and abuse within the system.

Kennedy described the discovery as a major warning sign and argued that previous administrations weakened safeguards that were designed to protect taxpayers and maintain the integrity of federal healthcare programs.

“The Obamacare marketplace is plagued by fraud in large part because the Biden administration dismantled basic program integrity guardrails, while partisan lawfare blocked common sense efforts to protect taxpayers,” Kennedy said during a video announcement released alongside Oz.

Kennedy questioned why the government would continue paying benefits to individuals whose identities could not be fully verified, arguing that stronger oversight measures should have been maintained.

According to the Department of Health and Human Services, roughly 19.2 million Americans are currently enrolled in Obamacare exchange plans. That figure has fallen from approximately 23.4 million in 2025 following the expiration of enhanced subsidies implemented during the Biden administration.

Kennedy and Oz have made combating fraud in healthcare spending a major priority during President Trump’s administration, though they did not specify how many of the one million enrollees without Social Security numbers are suspected of fraudulent activity.

Oz claimed that dishonest insurance brokers and other bad actors have been enrolling unsuspecting Americans into healthcare plans without their knowledge while collecting commissions from insurance companies for policies they never legitimately sold.

According to Oz, many of the questionable enrollments involve plans with little or no monthly premium, allowing the activity to go unnoticed by consumers for long periods of time.

“Some of these agents refuse to follow basic rules, like providing their clients’ Social Security numbers. That, my friends, is a huge red flag,” Oz said.

Federal officials said they have already terminated thousands of fraudulent enrollments and are working with insurance providers to identify additional cases and recover taxpayer dollars that were improperly paid out.

Kennedy emphasized that the administration intends to aggressively pursue those responsible and restore confidence in the healthcare system.

“We’re also working with insurers to cancel every policy that should never have been issued and recover every taxpayer dollar that was fraudulently paid out,” Kennedy said.

Oz closed with a warning aimed directly at those attempting to exploit the system.

“If you’re a fraudster, here’s our advice to you: do not walk away from us, run, because we are going to find you,” he said.
