Ty Cobb, an attorney who served in the White House during the Trump administration, provided an analysis on Tuesday regarding the potential consequences of Donald Trump’s inflammatory language and his criticisms directed towards individuals responsible for overseeing or participating in his numerous legal proceedings.
Cobb suggested that these actions may lead to initial sanctions against the former president and eventually culminate in his incarceration pending the outcome of certain trials.
On Tuesday, President Trump utilized his Truth Social platform to disseminate a post from a fellow user expressing a desire to witness the apprehension of New York State Attorney Letitia James and Judge Arthur Engoron using the mechanism of citizens’ arrest. The aforementioned post was subsequently deleted from President Trump’s social media account.
James filed a complaint amounting to $250 million against Trump and his corporation, accusing them of intentionally inflating the value of their properties in order to get financial benefits. The matter is currently being tried in New York under the supervision of Engoron.
Cobb emphasized to CNN’s Erin Burnett that “These are the types of incendiary attacks that do lead to violence. He specifically asked people to conduct a citizen’s arrest. Detention of either James or Engoron would be a crime if committed by any individual who was so motivated by the president’s remarks.”
Cobb asserts that Trump’s rhetoric “continues to be off the rails in terms of the extent to which his invective infects these proceedings and has the potential to intimidate witnesses. I believe that at some point comments like this will result in Trump not only being sanctioned, which will probably be the first order of business, but at some point, these types of comments will result in him being put in jail pending some of these trials.”
Burnett expressed her belief that such a scenario would be “really stunning to imagine” and “horrible” for the United States.
Cobb asserted that the current leading candidate for the Republican Party in the 2024 presidential election, Trump, engages in “petty dictator-type talk” during global crises, which consequently “diminishes him and the United States every day.”

Cobb did not explain how, when Trump was president, because of his tough talk, the US got in no new wars, he had the military destroy ISIS, he curbed North Korea’s nuclear ambitions, kept Russia at bay, and Israel was at peace.
Other political commentators have a different take on the situation.
According to Steve Bannon, a former counselor to President Donald Trump known for his blunt approach, he anticipates that the MAGA movement will transcend President Trump’s third presidential campaign and have a lasting impact on the contemporary Republican Party.
During an interview on Showtime’s “The Circus” program, Bannon expressed his belief that the factions opposing President Trump would eventually regret the absence of his leadership within the Republican Party.
As stated by Bannon, “President Trump is a moderate in our movement. You’re going to pine in future years that you wish Donald Trump was around.”
According to Bannon, the most significant division within the GOP lies between establishment elites and supporters of President Trump who assert that President Joe Biden’s victory in the 2020 election was unjust.
“One of the litmus tests is… not just President Trump, but also particularly the stealing of the 2020 election. That is a fundamental tenant of this movement. By the way, they made it all about Trump. This movement is ascendant and is going to go on long after Donald Trump. It’s only going to get more powerful and broader.”
Following the conclusion of the Showtime episode, Bannon and Kari Lake engaged in a discussion on his “War Room” show, during which they derided Tim Miller, an individual who openly identifies as a Never Trumper, for his attire, likening it to that of a 13-year-old. In her analysis, Lake expressed that her interview with Miller may have been conducted more effectively had he posed “honest questions” rather than engaging in tactics aimed at provoking her to denounce other Republicans or express criticism towards President Trump.

In relation to the ongoing trial of the former president in New York, Alina Habba, the attorney for Donald Trump, contended on Sunday that the “radical Left liberals’ demonstrate a lack of respect for the law.
During an appearance on the television program “Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo” on Fox News, Habba engaged in a discussion regarding the trial of former President Trump.
During the recent week, Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, and Ivanka Trump, offspring of former President Donald Trump, were called upon to present testimony in a legal proceeding.
The purpose of their testimonies was to address the assertion made by Habba that their involvement in the case is incongruous.
“I believe that when they crafted this complaint, they looked at their tiles, and they looked at, frankly, PR, and if they patch in the kids, it’s more days that Letitia James can go out there and speak. It’s more press for her and more of an impact,” Habba argued. “Radical Left liberals don’t really care about facts. They don’t care about law. They care about making statements, and these kids did nothing wrong. They should not be in this case. Ivanka’s already out of the case. The boys should not be in the case. Their testimony was direct, and they want to make it as if there was some sort of corruption and some sort of conspiracy; there was none.”
Habba further asserted that Judge Arthur Engoron, presiding over the New York case, had demonstrated a bias towards the opposing party and is “motivated by the other side,” citing specific rulings made by Engoron in the course of the proceedings.
