Aaron Judge added another milestone to his already historic career on Wednesday night, crushing his 50th home run of the season and etching his name alongside some of the game’s greatest power hitters.
With one swing in the second inning against the White Sox, the Yankees slugger launched a three-run blast into the home bullpen on a first-pitch sinker from Jonathan Cannon. The homer gave New York a 3-1 lead at Yankee Stadium — and pushed Judge into elite company.
Judge now becomes just the fourth player in MLB history to record four separate 50-homer seasons, joining Babe Ruth, Mark McGwire, and Sammy Sosa. No one has done it five times.
The Yankees captain previously hit 52 home runs as a rookie in 2017, broke the American League record with 62 in 2022, and followed with 58 in 2024. He now has four games left in the regular season to add to his total.
The milestone comes just a day after Judge tied another legend — Ted Williams — by drawing his 34th intentional walk of the season, the most in the AL since the stat began being tracked.
At 32, Judge continues to blend elite plate discipline with overwhelming power, anchoring the Yankees lineup with MVP-caliber consistency.
