Hello folks, the tone of this piece might remind you of the popular AC/DC track, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, chosen in reflection of the misguided tirade of U.S. Representative Al Green, unfortunately hailing from Texas. It took no more than a fortnight for Green and his leftist allies to demand impeachment proceedings against the 47th President of our country, Donald J. Trump. In his fiery rhetoric, Green accuses President Trump of ‘dastardly proposals and dastardly deeds’, holding them as the justification for impeachment. Quite odd, as my foundational constitutional search for these as grounds for impeachment turned up null.
One would assume a Congressman, which I myself once was, to be thoroughly educated on matters of the constitution, especially since they have sworn an oath to uphold it. But it seems this oath holds less water when it comes to their likes, the Democrats who seem to take their party’s mascot a bit too seriously. Albert Einstein once defined insanity as ‘doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting different results’. And it seems we are once again heading down the beaten path of leftist delusion, to celebrate the Ceremony of Impeachment.
The Constitution is unambiguous in Article II, Section 4, outlying clear conditions for presidential impeachment pertaining to treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors. Sadly, the leftist brigade seems enthusiastic to use impeachment as a tool to amend their own dissatisfactions. Despite Obama’s famous statement, ‘elections have consequences’, these leftists have difficulty accepting defeat. The verdict of the 2024 Election seems even harder for them to swallow.
Article II of the Constitution details the responsibilities of the Executive Branch, hinting that everyone serving in the federal government is, in fact, under the employ of the Chief Executive. It seems this might be too complex for leftists to process, seeing as they demonstrate a clear aversion to the employer-employee paradigm of the private sector. Consequently, the duty of the Executive Branch, and specifically the President, is to ensure federal governance aligns with the Constitution – a role seemingly perplexing to leftists.
In corporate lingo, somebody who ensures compliance is typically called a consultant. This concept might be more digestible for leftists, given Obama’s fondness for appointing ‘Czars and Czarinas’ to accomplish tasks outside of constitutional boundaries. The current disillusionment from the left is largely due to them witnessing their revered temples of bureaucracy being systematically dismantled. In places like Washington D.C., where Kamala Harris enjoyed overwhelming support, this has led to a left-leaning echo chamber.
Many people refer to this echo chamber as the bureaucratic administrative state, and the exposure of its fraudulence is causing the progressive socialist left to fume. The audacity of Donald Trump and Elon Musk to deconstruct such a pervasive government is causing quite a stir. Strangely enough, I recall a Democratic president declaring that ‘the era of big government is over’ at a State of the Union address. This was none other than Bill Clinton following a decisive defeat in the 1994 midterms.
Majority of present day leftists seem resistant to change, choosing instead to voice complaints that reveal their stubbornness. If we’re to truly examine ‘dastardly proposals and dastardly deeds’, it begs the question: where was Al Green while Biden and Harris put forth executive orders that essentially put our national sovereignty at stake and flung our borders wide open? Where was Al Green when more than a quarter of a million Americans fell victim to fentanyl poisoning? How about when Biden decided to erase college student loan debt?
These are a few examples of violations of our Constitution, egregious as they may be, yet they somehow pass the leftist’s test of acceptability. It seems their loyalty to America’s laws goes as far as it accommodates their personal agenda. In my honest opinion, granting criminals and terrorists unrestricted access to our country is nothing short of treasonous. Equally, undermining our energy independence to then solicit resources from our enemies is undoubtedly treacherous.
Supporting a recognized Islamic terrorist organization within our own borders, well, that’s beyond ‘dastardly’. I find some perverse satisfaction watching the left wallow in their self-inflicted misery – they’ve earned it. I can only hope Republicans don’t manage to fumble their potential victory, as they’ve been known to do. This may very well be the turning point where the progressive socialist left is exiled into political obscurity.
It’s clear that Al Green believes spending taxpayer dollars on LGBTQ+ comic books for foreign nations to be perfectly acceptable. In my opinion, federal employees should turn up for work – a sentiment obviously not shared by the left. It’s interesting to witness government union leaders intimidate employees into refusing offered buyouts – they clearly fear losing their power and influence.
To me, the brazen disregard of our Constitution displayed by the progressive socialist left is tantamount to high crimes and misdemeanors against our constitutional republic. Their so-called ‘proposals and deeds’ are not just ‘dastardly’, they are destructive. And when it comes to actions like condoning child gender mutilation, that’s downright demonic.
Despite all this, President Trump and Elon Musk continue their mission – doing what the American people elected them to do by addressing the lopsided leftist agendas threatening our beloved America. Unyielding in their role, they remind the leftists that their actions too bear consequences. Steadfast and Loyal.
