An inquiry pertains to the identification of the individuals who were adversely affected when Robert Hunter Biden purportedly provided false information on a federal background check document in 2018, afterwards engaging in the unlawful acquisition of a firearm.
Were the individuals potentially at risk from a man who, according to his own confession, was deeply immersed in a drug dependency comparable to that depicted in the literary work of Hunter S. Thompson, the author of “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas”? Thompson himself might have advised caution to the son of the future president, stating, “Whoa – as a fellow enthusiast of mind-altering substances, my friend, it would be prudent for you to assess your situation before encountering detrimental consequences.”
Are the individuals in question the law-abiding gun owners residing in America, who are currently witnessing proponents of liberal ideology seizing onto this particular incident as a justification to advocate for stricter regulations on firearms?
Of course not. According to the media, President Joseph Robinette Biden—a devoted parent, extraordinary family man, and “devout Catholic”—is the true sufferer.
One source claimed that Biden has “even lamented aloud that he might be dead before his son’s case is resolved” in an NBC News report that was released on Saturday. The narrative is astounding in how little responsibility is placed on either the charged son or the father who has a history of providing support.
The article opened with Biden citing the death of his son Beau as the reason he decided not to run for president in 2016.
“During the period between his vice presidency and presidency, Joe Biden was often asked about the campaign he didn’t run. In explaining why he passed on a White House bid in 2016, Biden would describe how the death of his eldest son, Beau, weighed heavily on him and his family,” the lede read.
“No man or woman should announce for president of the United States unless they can look the public in the eye and say, ‘I promise you I am giving 100 percent of my attention and dedication to this effort,’” Biden said in 2017.
(Never mind that, according to The New York Times, then-President Barack Obama made it very evident in the 2016 election that, in his opinion, Hillary Clinton had his backing and that he would much prefer her over Biden. If you choose to disregard reality, the entire thing sounds better.)
That’s the reason NBC stated,“people close to the president are increasingly [worried] about how the legal troubles of his remaining son, Hunter, could divide his attention at a time when he needs to be fully focused on what’s expected to be a razor close election.
“A distracted president, perhaps more prone to mistakes or missteps, is the political toll people close to Biden worry could hurt him in 2024 as his son faces at least one indictment and potentially trials in multiple jurisdictions stemming from his conduct during the height of his drug addiction.”
Just three months ago, when U.S. Attorney David Weiss announced a plea deal with Hunter Biden on gun and tax charges, everything appeared to be going well, as NBC pointed out. If Hunter followed the terms of the agreement, all of the charges would be dropped after two years.
Rather, the plea agreement was turned down by U.S. District Judge Maryellen Noreika because it was deemed “confusing,” “not straightforward,” “unprecedented,” and “atypical.”
Weiss was designated as special counsel in the case by Attorney General Merrick Garland in August. Numerous Republicans chastised Weiss for the plea deal, which he was credited with designing.
NBC detailed the subsequent events: “Hunter, his wife and their young son, Beau, joined the president and first lady during a … getaway last month in Lake Tahoe as Hunter’s legal team sparred with Delaware prosecutors over the next steps in his case, and House Republicans continued taking steps to ramp up their investigations.”
Now that Hunter has been charged with the firearms offenses, many Republicans have also condemned this decision.
“The emotional toll continues to weigh heavily on the president and first lady, who approach the most sensitive family matters as a father and mother above all else, according to a source familiar with their thinking,” NBC reported. “But the recent shift in their outlook has been dramatic, the source said.”
Biden’s regrets that he might pass away before Hunter’s case is finished are included in this. Which isn’t exactly the best justification for giving Joe another four years in office, to be honest.
“So sensitive are White House aides about the matter that ‘everybody walks around on eggshells in the West Wing’ and are loath to raise the topic, another source familiar with the matter said,” NBC reported.
“Every day, this president wakes up and thinks about his deceased son and probably cries every day. And the weight of [Hunter’s legal troubles] is equally emotionally taxing,” said Michael LaRosa, Jill Biden’s former press secretary.
The Bidens, LaRosa said, are “incredibly protective of Hunter. Very much so, because he’s been unfairly made a target, but also because they’re protective of all their children and grandchildren, the way most people are. Obviously, it’s more amplified because Hunter is a political target.”
Not at all. Hunter Biden is a Beltway failure who consistently disregards responsibility and lacks basic intelligence. His last name has been his pass to success in life.
That ticket has been declared void by Burisma, CEFC, the “laptop from hell,” and every other lie—including Joe’s—that has been given to maintain the impression of the pitiful drug addict who has only made a few minor errors.
Anyone who is an addict and his family is sympathetic, but this addict’s father, who also serves as his main enabler, is also the commander in chief, and he wants to continue serving in that capacity for another four years despite his incoherent comments about his son’s transgressions.
Biden ought to resign from office at the conclusion of his tenure if the charges against Hunter are causing him such anxiety. After all, the nation needs a leader, not an enabler.
