Biden’s Shaky Call to Run: Kamala’s Unfortunate Retrospect

A grim week it has been, bearing witness to several unfortunate events. You might find the sinking humor woven from the third paragraph onwards. There’s the bizarre tale of our Commander-in-Chief’s acquaintance with a notorious, now-deceased criminal and then onto the hostilities endangering the long-standing truce between Russia and NATO since the Cold War. Craving more? There’s an ethics quandary at the Federal Reserve to add to the mix, and then, for dessert, rehashing the Democratic Party’s disastrous outing in the 2024 elections.

Coming to the deeply unsettling murder of Charlie Kirk on a Utah college campus midweek – a ghastly occurrence that jolted the nation to its core. As the father of two innocent children, his loss is heartbreaking. The steady rise in the country’s tension after the unfortunate event is palpable. To navigate through these trying times, it’s crucial to draw attention to the need for responsible leadership.

While the gravity of the situation warrants swift response, the figures that come to mind are Senator Bernie Sanders and Utah Governor Spencer Cox. Sanders’ timely release of a strong message against the worrisome inclination towards political violence speaks volumes about his understanding of the degenerating socio-political climate. It’s a dark revelation of how bad things could spiral.

Cox, known for his grounded leadership style and concern over widening societal division, stands out as a beacon. His actions reflect his understanding of the pressing need to diffuse the escalating tension enveloping our nation. However, may we take a moment to acknowledge the loss of Charlie Kirk. May he rest in peace.

Shifting our focus to the international scene, an alarming development was noticed at the Russo-Polish border. A startling invasion of Polish airspace by Russian drones, launched apparently from Belarus, led to an immediate response from NATO forces. Russia and Belarus shrugged it off as a misunderstanding.

This audacious move has been interpreted as Russia’s attempt to assess the efficiency of NATO’s response system under Vladimir Putin’s leadership, primarily focusing on Poland’s supply channels to Ukraine. Now, it falls on the U.S. President’s shoulder to see if such interference with an allied state concerns him.

Coming back to the national front, the House Oversight Committee’s unveiling of pages from Jeffrey Epstein’s 50th ‘birthday book’ was met with predictable reactions from Congressional Republicans. The silence from the Republican side or conveniently ignoring the arrest was quite noticeable.

Kash Patel, in another instance of national importance, reported that the alleged shooter involved in Charlie Kirk’s assassination was apprehended. Contradictively, he later disclosed the suspect’s release after an initial round of interrogation.

Utah state officials, however, delivered conflicting statements at the same period, thereby further muddying the narrative. These puzzling inconsistencies demonstrate once again the dire need for accountable leadership and transparent communication during national crises.

Moving onto a federal appointment, Stephen Miran, chairperson of the White House Council of Economic Advisers and Trump’s choice to fulfill a temporary position on the Federal Reserve’s Board of Governors. Remarkably, his nomination breezed through the Senate Banking Committee, even within GOP members, raising eyebrows about the proceedings.

In a riveting glimpse into former Vice President Kamala Harris’s perspective, an excerpt from her soon-to-be-published book, 107 Days, revealed some startling insights. Harris’s remark that former President Biden’s decision to run was dependent on his and Jill Biden’s choice was termed ‘reckless’ in retrospect by herself.

Harris’s audacity to claim this as a manifestation of individual ambition and ego bafflingly positions herself on an unsteady moral high ground. She even went as far as blaming Biden’s staffers, who rightfully pointed out that her success as Vice President was at Biden’s expense.

Expectedly, equally critical retorts surfaced from anonymous sources within the Biden administration, highlighting her inefficiency and lack of contribution to key administrative tasks. The remarks painted a grim prognosis of Harris’s capability—or lack thereof—as a presidential candidate, reinforcing her dismal performances in 2019 and 2024.
