During a recent episode of Bill Maher’s Club Random podcast, former CNN host Don Lemon launched into an attack on the MAGA movement, calling it “really f***ing racist” and questioning how any Black voter could support President Donald Trump. However, Maher didn’t let Lemon’s remarks slide, pointing out how condescending and offensive it is to dismiss Black Trump supporters in such a way.
Maher referenced a Saturday Night Live skit featuring Tom Hanks, where the actor played a Trump supporter on “Black Jeopardy.” The sketch highlighted shared values between many working-class Americans, regardless of race. Maher noted that while critics may have disagreements with Trump’s presidency, it is unfair and inaccurate to label half the country as racist.
Lemon, who was let go from CNN in 2023 after repeated controversies, doubled down, insisting racism is deeply rooted in the MAGA movement. He also suggested Black Trump supporters are misguided, a claim that Maher rightfully pushed back on as patronizing and dismissive.
LEMON: “There’s a huge faction of the MAGA movement that’s really f**king racist.”
MAHER: “I wouldn’t say huge.”

Since his exit from CNN, Lemon has announced plans to launch his own YouTube podcast, an attempt to stay relevant in media after his mainstream career faltered. His comments on Maher’s show, however, serve as yet another example of the Left’s desperate attempts to smear Trump supporters—Black, White, or otherwise—as irredeemable.
