Billionaire Trump Supporter Just Brutally Threw Him Under The Bus

Peter Thiel, a prominent Republican benefactor with substantial wealth, conveyed his dissatisfaction with the tenure of outgoing President Donald Trump, expressing his displeasure in the administration’s inability to fulfill even his modest anticipations.

In an interview conducted by Barton Gellman of The Atlantic, Thiel expressed his perspective that casting a vote in favor of Trump could be likened to an inarticulate expression of distress, with the underlying goal of effecting positive change inside the nation. However, Thiel ultimately experienced a sense of disillusionment and disenchantment when his expectations were not met.

“There are a lot of things I got wrong,” Thiel told Gellman. “It was crazier than I thought. It was more dangerous than I thought. They couldn’t get the most basic pieces of the government to work. So that was—I think that part was maybe worse than even my low expectations.”

Thiel, a prominent supporter of Trump during the 2016 presidential campaign, disclosed that Trump had contacted him to express his disappointment and dissatisfaction, stating that he felt a sense of sadness and had anticipated a greater level of financial support from Thiel for the current election cycle, a request that Thiel declined.

Gellman said that Thiel learned months later that Trump had contacted Blake Masters to dissuade him from seeking the Senate again and had referred to Thiel as a “fucking scumbag.” Thiel also stated that he would no longer be contributing to Republican politicians in the near future.

Thiel told Gellman, “There’s always a chance I might change my mind. But by talking to you, it makes it hard for me to change my mind. My husband doesn’t want me to give them any more money, and he’s right. I know they’re going to be pestering me like crazy. And by talking to you, it’s going to lock me out of the cycle for 2024.”

Thiel also criticized Trump’s endeavors to invalidate the outcomes of the 2020 election as lacking in utility. According to Gellman, Thiel expressed disappointment that Trump would not fulfill his anticipated role as a transformative figure, however he indicated that he would not retroactively adopt an oppositional stance towards Trump, commonly known as a “Never Trumper.”

According to a report in April, it was indicated that Thiel will abstain from providing financial support to any candidates in the year 2024 due to his waning interest in politics and the ongoing cultural conflict.

Nevertheless, Thiel demonstrated his endorsement of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in May, asserting that DeSantis possesses the qualities necessary to excel as a presidential candidate.
