Fox News anchor Bret Baier, who acquired a residence in Palm Beach, Florida, for over $37 million the previous year, is now selling his residence in Washington, D.C. for a record $31.9 million.
Baier and his spouse, Amy, have recorded the highest residential sale price in the annals of Washington, D.C. for their chateau-style French residence. According to reports, real estate agent Daniel Heider of TTR Sotheby’s International Realty will list the property.
As the network’s chief political anchor and executive editor of the program Special Report, he is among the most recognizable figures on Fox News. A subsidiary of News Corp, The Wall Street Journal, was the first to disclose the news.
The property was purchased for $5.4 million by the couple in 2018. Nevertheless, they devoted three years to enlarging the residence by 16,250 square feet and installing five chambers. Reportedly, the endeavor incurred a total expenditure of $30 million.
The Baiers commenced residing in their Washington, D.C. residence in April 2022. Additionally, they commenced visiting their Palm Beach property subsequent to its purchase in the summer of the same year. Baier observed that the family began spending more time in the Sunshine State, where his children enjoy golfing, following the pandemic.
“The move to Florida was a great adventure for our family, and the boys fell in love with it,” he told the WSJ.
In addition to two half bathrooms, heated floors, a home gym, a movie theater, an indoor sports court, and a golf simulator, the mansion costing $31 million also features seven toilets. The Washingtonian reports that the estate features two three-car garages, a paved motor court with a fountain, and a heated pool measuring 56 feet in length.
Amy Baier told the WSJ, “We created this private place where we could escape to and not worry about any intruders.” The family placed a high value on privacy and security.
