Elon Musk: A Heroic Icon or a Power-Hungry Oligarch?

Pay attention when individuals disclose their identities. This is something that Elon Musk has consistently done. It’s easy to sympathize with those who previously hailed him as a global rescuer due to his alluring but deceptive statements. Who could resist the urge to become a world savior and simultaneously flaunt one’s financial stability? However, Musk’s heroic veneer significantly faded over time, revealing his true personality – that of a power-hungry oligarch with an inclination for ketamine and questionable parenting habits, not to mention his Nazi salutation incident. All these assertions about his persona can be corroborated by his own confessions.

Musk didn’t hide his affinity for the psychedelic compound ketamine, having professed its beneficial effects. His support for the increasing dominance of Donald Trump in the United States is not a coincidence, but rather a deliberate choice. It is well-known that Musk has twice made a gesture largely interpreted as a Nazi salute, a claim that stands uncontested. Furthermore, Musk has publicly voiced his theory about his daughter Vivian Wilson being a victim of the woke mindset, even though she continues to live happily, albeit differently from his expectations.

These individual incidents, albeit small, collectively paint a comprehensive picture of the man behind the name. Another unflattering trait that emerges in this portrayal is Musk’s sheer cowardice, displayed time and time again. His vanity crumbles at the merest hint of a challenge. His standard response to any counter-argument is not a constructive rebuttal of points, but resorting to profanity.

In fact, there have been instances where he couldn’t bring himself to defend his position. It’s a classic evasion technique, signaling an inability to formulate a strong counter-argument. A mere desire to hear words of praise without the strength to face criticism defines his attitude. It’s nothing more than the behavior of a man seeking incessant adulation, devoid of any intrinsic substance.

An instance that illustrates this point is Musk’s recent criticism of ‘The Daily Show’ and its host, Jon Stewart. Musk labeled the renowned show as ‘propaganda,’ while paradoxically expressing an interest in being interviewed by them. But consistent with his past, his potential participation seems more like another false promise.

Stewart recently disclosed that like most others, he too was kept waiting by Musk, who conveniently chose to ignore his communication. The billionaire responded to all interview requests with the caveat that his dialogue should be aired unedited, as it were, in an attempt to skew the odds in his favor with baseless insinuations.

‘We agreed to air his interview unedited, as is the norm, and then he accused us of spreading propaganda’, Stewart remarked. ‘Eventually, he started to withdraw. I told him, either you participate or you don’t, but don’t imply that we don’t meet your standards.’ Musk’s reaction was a predictable act of cowardice, most likely to be utilized as an excuse.

Musk’s fans hang on his every word. If he labels ‘The Daily Show’ as propaganda, they blindly accept that as the reason for him backing out, not daring to pin the blame on him. As Stewart pointed out subsequently, after revealing that he was indeed snubbed by Musk, the latter had decided to distance himself from the government on the pretext of the left being excessively harsh.

In response to this, Stewart voiced his opinion that no one played the victim card better than Musk’s administration. ‘Never have I seen anyone, including my toddlers, manoeuver blame and responsibility in the spectacular way these people do, their lack of shame is stunning’, he lamented.

Stewart’s criticism seems spot on! It’s easy for us to neglect Musk’s points about the expectable hardships and adversities brought upon people during his governmental tenure. It appears he’s indifferent to those consequences, because in his viewpoint, this was a success.

But one undeniable blunder is how Musk mishandled a Supreme Court election in Wisconsin, leading to a loss for the Republicans. This incident can be solely attributed to him. Just as he dismissed Stewart and as he’s known to disregard his numerous progeny.

Yet, he prefers to ignore these failures, aligning with his habitual strategy of avoidance. Just like he sidestepped Jon Stewart’s invitation, and just like he neglects his numerous offspring, the ‘legion’ of over two hundred.

Despite the disarray of allegations, Musk continues to maintain his persona with a strange indifference. As most certainly are aware, it’s not uncommon for someone of his stature to face criticism. But the distinctive trait about Musk is the ease with which he disregards the waves of disapproval.

Musk’s dismissive attitude towards critique isn’t unknown. Still, his recurrent, unabashed dismissal of dissent shines a light on how he navigates the turbulent waters of public opinion. There seems to reign a certain vanity that can’t tolerate confrontation, making it hard for him to accept any differing point of view.

Musk’s public image seems to be a tapestry of diverse narratives – a visionary whose revolutionary ideas have turned him into a global sensation, and a controversial figure. He remains a person who’s always in the limelight, inspiring awe and criticism in equal measure.
