FBI Extradites Top MS-13 Leader From Mexico To Face ‘American Justice’

In a major victory for law enforcement, the FBI has successfully extradited Francisco Javier Román Bardales, a senior leader of the violent MS-13 gang, from Mexico to the United States. Román Bardales, who was on the FBI’s “Ten Most Wanted” list, was captured in the rugged mountains of Veracruz by Mexican soldiers and federal agents before being handed over to U.S. authorities.

FBI Director Kash Patel praised the joint operation, calling it “a major victory for law enforcement and for the safety of the American people.” He also commended Mexico’s cooperation in making the arrest and ensuring the criminal faces justice in the U.S.

Román Bardales now faces multiple charges in the Eastern District of New York, including conspiracy to provide material support to terrorists, narco-terrorism conspiracy, racketeering, and alien smuggling. Prosecutors allege he was responsible for ordering brutal executions, drug distribution, and extortion schemes that have plagued communities in both the U.S. and El Salvador.

This extradition follows the Trump administration’s recent designation of MS-13 as a foreign terrorist organization, recognizing the gang’s role in violent attacks, assassinations, and the use of improvised explosive devices against government officials in El Salvador. Under President Trump’s leadership, law enforcement agencies have ramped up efforts to dismantle MS-13’s operations and remove these violent criminals from American streets.

By securing the extradition of one of MS-13’s most dangerous figures, the Trump administration has reinforced its commitment to taking down transnational gangs and ensuring that those who bring violence to the U.S. face the full force of the law. The successful operation sends a clear message: America will not be a safe haven for criminals, and justice will be served.
