Gabbard Purges Top Intel Officials to Dismantle Deep State Influence and Restore Accountability

In a bold and decisive move, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard has fired the acting chair of the National Intelligence Council, Mike Collins, along with his deputy, Maria Langan-Riekhof, as part of a sweeping effort to root out political bias and restore integrity within the intelligence community.

The decision follows whistleblower reports alleging that both officials actively undermined the Trump administration’s agenda. Collins was reportedly linked to the now-discredited 2020 letter that attempted to dismiss the Hunter Biden laptop story as Russian disinformation—a narrative later proven false. Langan-Riekhof, meanwhile, was known for pushing controversial DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) programs within the intelligence apparatus, raising concerns over the politicization of national security.

Gabbard is also relocating the entire National Intelligence Council out of the CIA and into the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. The move is designed to place the council under direct oversight, reduce entrenched bureaucratic influence, and eliminate the partisan chokehold that many believe has plagued U.S. intelligence for years.

In addition to the firings, Gabbard has referred three intelligence professionals to the Department of Justice for leaking classified information to the media—an action she says directly endangered national security. A dozen more officials are currently under investigation for similar misconduct.

“These are not minor infractions,” Gabbard said. “Leaking sensitive intelligence for political purposes undermines public trust, damages our national defense, and will not be tolerated under any circumstances.”

The shake-up is part of a broader initiative championed by the Trump administration to fully dismantle what it views as a weaponized intelligence community riddled with partisan operatives. Gabbard’s actions reflect a return to accountability, transparency, and a renewed focus on serving the American people—not political agendas.

For years, critics have warned about the unchecked power of unelected bureaucrats operating in the shadows of Washington. Gabbard’s purge sends a clear signal: the days of the Deep State calling the shots behind closed doors are over.

This is the start of a long-overdue housecleaning—and one that patriotic Americans across the country have been demanding.
