Greg Gutfeld Shreds ‘Both Sides’ Narrative On Political Violence: “Since Kirk’s Death, That Argument Is Dead”

Greg Gutfeld didn’t hold back on The Five Wednesday, slamming the idea that political violence is coming equally from both sides. He made it crystal clear that, in his view, the overwhelming threat is rooted in left-wing extremism — and the media’s gaslighting is fueling it.

The Fox News host clashed with co-host Jessica Tarlov after she cited a disputed study claiming that most political violence comes from the Right. Gutfeld immediately shut it down.

“Your rationalization of BOTH SIDES…you come and you say, ‘This is a mentally ill loner.’ Well, who do you think does this stuff? It’s not Ben Affleck,… pic.twitter.com/U5ssL3gBnt

“Your rationalization of both sides—” Gutfeld started before Tarlov jumped in, insisting she wasn’t “rationalizing anything.”

“You have to understand,” Gutfeld continued, “Since Kirk’s death, there is no ‘both sides’ anymore.”

Tarlov tried to bring up a Department of Justice study — one she claimed had shown a rise in right-wing extremism — but Gutfeld wasn’t buying it. “What study was that? The one in The Economist that was sponsored by a guy who runs with Antifa?” he shot back. “You’re walking down a really bad alley right now.”

Gutfeld went on to explain how the media plays a role in radicalizing unstable individuals. “You label someone a fascist or a Nazi, and that gives you permission to attack them. That’s been the Left’s playbook for years,” he said. “You do that enough, and someone who’s mentally on edge gets pushed over.”

When Tarlov brought up Trump’s rhetoric, Gutfeld dismissed the comparison. “The Left calls Trump a hate monger. They’ve called me a hate monger because I mock protesters, Hollywood, the UN, academia. But guess what? No one on my side acts on what I say. My side doesn’t do that.”

He argued that while mental illness often plays a role, the key question is who is directing that instability toward violence. “Why ICE? Why Charlie Kirk? Why attack Catholic schools? Why put bombs under Fox trucks?” Gutfeld asked. “Someone is pointing them in that direction.”

“Two things can be true,” he added. “Yes, the person is mentally ill. But someone is guiding him. That’s how brainwashing works.”

Gutfeld’s fiery commentary echoed a growing concern on the Right — that leftist media and rhetoric aren’t just divisive, they’re dangerous.
