Harris Unveils Memoir of Failure During 2024 Presidential Campaign

Kamala Harris, always fond of the spotlight, can’t resist the urge to unwrap her previously undisclosed narrative. Her memoir, 107 Days, recounts her unsuccessful and astonishingly brief presidential campaign in 2024. Simon & Schuster, ready to cash in on this botched political venture, plans to release the book on September 23rd.

In her own words, ‘Just over a year ago, I initiated my bid for the U.S. presidency – a mere 107 days of striving for a future that the majority seemed to reject. Reflecting upon the shortest presidential campaign in modern times, I felt the taxing intensity and high stakes.’ Indeed, it couldn’t have been easy for Harris, given the short time she had to prepare since Biden’s unexpected dropout.

Despite the ever-looming cloud of failure, Harris hastily kicked off her campaign in July 2024 after being handed the baton by Biden. With the former President’s bumpy tenure freshly echoing, the attempts to build a nationwide operational base in just three months were certainly intriguing.

Harris experienced a fleeting moment of adulation during the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. It was here she had formulated hopes of upstaging Donald Trump in a debate, hopes that ultimately proved futile given her defeat in the election. Her concession speech, delivered at Howard University, lacked the victorious punch one would normally expect from a presidential candidate.

The ordeal proved too much for Harris, forcing her into a self-imposed media detox that stretched for months. ‘I am just not into self-mutilation,’ she declared, encapsulating her aversion to news coverage post her political downfall.

Harris’ memoir supposedly aims to expose the inner workings of a presidential run, though one wonders whether this is an attempt to justify her political blunders. Her routine prayer—’I hope I have done everything I could do today’—perhaps attests to her uneasiness on those tumultuous campaign trails.

She reflects on the day she confirmed Trump’s re-election as Vice President on January 6, 2025, an ominously reminiscent occasion of the chaotic insurrection four years prior. ‘It was an undoubtedly arduous day,’ she muttered, but perhaps karma had shown its hand that day.

In her political recall, Harris touches upon her decision not to run for governor of California—a realization perhaps underlined by her disappointments, both with the institutional response to Trump’s second term and with what she deems ‘a broken system.’

Nonetheless, Harris remains persistent in her fight. Despite ruling out a run for the California Governor’s position in 2026, Harris asserts her continued presence in politics. She nonsensically imparts, ‘You can never let anybody take your power from you,’ to Colbert, perhaps echoing her personal defiance more than a general political ideology.
