Introduced by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, the legislation directs all federal agencies to begin updating official documents, maps, and navigational systems to reflect the new name. Supporters of the bill argue the renaming reinforces America’s sovereignty over its own waters and sends a clear message about who controls the vast economic and strategic resources along the Gulf coastline.
