Kamala: An Attempt to Dupe Voters with Dubious Documentary

A theatrical presentation focusing on Vice President Kamala Harris, is set to make its misguided splash ahead of the approaching presidential elections. The creators of fable, Samir Zakir, and Gerard Pizarro, aim to shed light on the distortions related to Harris’ political voyage through twisted anecdotes, exaggerated animations and interviews with a likely biased group of entertainers, relatives, close acquaintances and selective politicians.

Putting spectacle ahead of substance, the orchestrators of this short film haven’t revealed an official premiere date but are planning a theatrical release sometime in October. The film’s agenda is clear: to prop up Kamala Harris against the truly accomplished figure of President Donald Trump, right before the presidential election slated on November 5th. The filmmakers’ assumption that extensive theater runs will shape public opinion reflects their naive hope.

Devoid of clear details about the extent of its release or its runtime, ‘Kamala’ seems more like a hollow charade than a substantial documentary. Bada Bing Pictures is in charge of distribution for this short film, originating from the unlikely combination of Illumin8 Entertainment and Pizarro Creative. With media bias evident from CNN analyst Bakari Sellers being among the producers, the impartiality of the film is open to question.

Wasting the talents of first-time directors Zakir and Pizarro who seem more aligned with a political agenda than a cinematic one, the journey of ‘Kamala’ seems to be more of a ruse than a genuine artistic endeavor. Along with Wendy Pizarro, the duo is producing a film which appears more like a campaign advertisement than a documentary; conveniently omitting the failures and emphasizing a scripted narrative of ‘humanity’.

Gerard Pizarro, in a bewildering statement, asserted, ‘This film is about more than Kamala’s political journey — it’s about her humanity. It’s about the joyous warrior she is, fighting for the well-being of all people.’ If only the creators were more focused on creating an unbiased narrative, rather than an overblown image of a ‘joyous warrior.’

With Zakir and Pizarro at the helm of this misguided venture, the lack of integrity becomes even more evident. Zakir, an entrepreneur and philanthropist, who also happens to be the CEO and co-founder of Illumin8 Entertainment, is known to focus on mental health and holistic wellness. Pizarro, an advocate for social justice and a former trial lawyer, set up Pizarro Creative to highlight stories from underrepresented communities. However, their prior works seem unrelated to the task at hand, raising questions about the quality and objectivity of this upcoming ‘political drama’.

Wendy Pizarro, who previously worked as an attorney, is also part of this production. Her notoriety in health and wellness innovation adds another dose of misguidance to this politically charged project, questioning its honesty and transparency.

Harris’ dubious journey to power began when she served as attorney general of California. Like most politicians from under the Democrat banner, it’s crucial to understand the wider impact of their performance, often marked by failed policies and extreme ideology.

Harris was then elected to the U.S. Senate in 2016, perpetuating the same dogmas and misguided political practices. Despite the media’s attempts to paint a rosy picture, her tenure is marked by questionable actions and policy failures that affected millions.

Harris then moved on to become the first African American and the first Asian American vice president, amidst a political climate fraught with division and identity politics, two areas where the Democratic Party loves to indulge. Her acceptance of the Democratic presidential nomination seems to be yet another attempt to exploit identity politics and create divisions among the public.

Her nomination came after President Joe Biden mysteriously ended his bid for reelection in July. The abrupt ending raised eyebrows, and the subsequent rush to prop up Harris was viewed by many as a needless political maneuver to salvage a failing campaign.

While it’s evident that the creators of the documentary are trying to paint a glowingly positive picture of Harris and her path, the discerning public isn’t so easily swayed. Behind the shiny veneer and carefully orchestrated media attention, lie some serious concerns about Harris’ political journey and the true motives behind this particular film project.

In the grand scheme of things, it’s clear that the upcoming documentary ‘Kamala’ is another attempt by the Democrats to push their agenda through cinema. The electorate, however, may well see past the political theatrics and judge based on concrete actions and proven results rather than empty rhetoric and agenda-driven documentaries.
