Kamala Harris Dreaming of Miraculous Election Win

In our volatile political landscape, predictions are futile. Yet, a common assertion is irrationally rippling through both sides of the political spectrum – an unfair anticipation for liberals to prepare for a possible Trump victory. This narrative significantly underplays the trauma experienced by those on the left from Trump’s astounding 2016 election victory, and overemphasizes Trump’s chances despite the ambiguity shrouding the final outcome.

But, let’s divert our attention to the other side of the spectrum, the fervent MAGA supporters whose lives seem to orbit around the Trump ideology. These are the ones exhibiting their allegiance by sporting red hats and carrying Trump flags as if they were religious sacraments. Surely they should be cognizant of a not often voiced possibility – the potential triumph of Kamala Harris in the election. Although by no means prophetic, this scenario holds as much weight, as the likelihood of Trump snatching a win.

Regrettably, no one within the realms of Fox News or the incessant chatter of the right-wing media is endeavoring to equip Trump backers for the potential reality of a defeat scenario. An arduous task, indeed, considering many within this cohort persist in believing the spurious notion that Trump actually won the election.

In the not-so-distant past, at the time of the Republican National Convention, Trump’s campaign exuded a weird infallibility largely due to Biden’s lackluster debate performance. The notion of Trump’s losing seemed to miraculously vanish. Nonetheless, in reality, it cannot be argued that this atmosphere of assured victory has remained. Meaningless as they may be, current polls illustrate Harris ahead on average equal to Trump’s previous lead when buzzing talk of a definitive Trump win was rampant.

Recent events present a keen display as to why Trump’s supposed campaign dominance is crumbling. His interaction with voters during an event in Pennsylvania encapsulates his mystifying behavior, standing on-stage, swaying absurdly to a playlist for an extended 40 minutes. Such an unusual spectacle incited renewed queries about his mental fitness.

The following days were not any brighter for Trump’s plunging campaign. His derogatory comments about autoworkers, belittling their skills during an interview at the Economic Club of Chicago, left many in awe. His tendency for inflammatory rhetoric continued with his virulent denouncement of Democrats as the supposed ‘enemy from within’ at a town hall meeting.

His ludicrous behavior did not stop there; Trump proceeded to mock the grieving family of a young woman from Georgia whose passing has been traced back to the state’s severe abortion ban. Such acts exhibit a lack of compassion that seems to define the essence of Trump’s campaign.

However, the most shocking moment of the week occurred during a town hall with Latino voters on Univision. Here, he described the attack on the Capitol in January as ‘a day of love’. This left one attendee visibly bewildered, and the clip swiftly went viral.

Yet another bizarre event unfolded at a fundraiser in New York City during the same week. Trump resorted to off-color humor about adultery and menstruation, all while standing just feet from a cardinal. His speeches danced around derogatory terms for COVID-19 and the Democratic party, and unnecessarily brought attention to Barack Obama’s middle name.

By the end of the week, his erratic campaign antics led to the cancelation of several planned interviews. He notably denied another debate with Harris, leading to speculation of his fatigue. Harris capitalized on this perceived vulnerability, questioning whether Trump’s exhaustion made him unfit for presidency – the most grueling job in the world.

Harris, who has leveraged Trump’s weary appearance, is running a markedly positive and focused campaign. She’s drawing large crowd in her rallies, while simultaneously highlighting the prominent Republicans who have decided to back her instead of their party’s incumbent.

On Wednesday, Harris successfully navigated an interview spotlighting her ambition to connect with individuals outside the Democratic sphere. Her approach is in sharp contrast to Trump’s polarizing and rambling speeches which have only served to create deeper political divides within the country.

This election, like any other, could swing either way – an essential belief that every faction of our society must accept. As much as rumblings of Trump potentially securing another term have been circling, triggering apprehension among his non-supporters, the other side of the coin should not be ignored.

To the staunch residents of MAGA world, the chance of Trump winning the presidency is something you have relished. In turn, your liberal counterparts have braced for that very scenario. Now, however, it’s time you too considered the alternative: that the opposition, personified in Kamala Harris, might just win the presidency instead.

This is not an unheard-of outcome, nor a ludicrous presumption. Rather, it’s a plausible notion that deserves equal consideration. Conditions change, and in a world where political winds often abruptly shift, the prepared mind is the one that prevails.

Regardless of personal political inclinations, both sides must come to terms with the real possibility of experiencing a disappointment or a pleasant surprise depending on their preferred candidate. Just as liberals have been urged to brace for a potential Trump victory, fervent MAGA supporters would do well to prepare for the realistic outcome of a Harris win. Only then will we be truly prepared for the unpredictable nature of these election results.
