Scanlan stated, “The narrative from the Democratic National Committee (regarding New Hampshire’s lack of diversity) is not the real reason why this is going on, and there are more important reasons why New Hampshire should go first, and I’ll be discussing those tomorrow.”
But some consider New Hampshire’s decision to uphold its century-old tradition of being the best in the country as a jab at the Democratic National Committee and President Biden. According to state law, the first presidential primary must take place one week before any comparable competition. The DNC may punish New Hampshire for its disobedience, which can include taking away half of its delegates to the national convention.
