The Los Angeles Dodgers found themselves at the center of a political firestorm after refusing to grant access to federal agents seeking to use part of the stadium’s property during a night of growing anti-ICE demonstrations.
According to team officials, federal agents—reportedly in tactical gear—arrived at Dodger Stadium requesting to stage in Parking Lot E. The team denied the request, citing it as private property and asserting no coordination with immigration enforcement. The game went on as scheduled, but tensions outside the venue intensified.
This morning, ICE agents came to Dodger Stadium and requested permission to access the parking lots. They were denied entry to the grounds by the organization. Tonight’s game will be played as scheduled.

City Councilwoman Eunisses Hernandez and dozens of protestors quickly mobilized, accusing the federal government of using the stadium as a staging ground for immigration crackdowns. Chants against ICE echoed around the stadium perimeter, while LAPD was deployed to maintain order.
The Department of Homeland Security later claimed the agents were from Customs and Border Protection, not ICE, and insisted they were not conducting an enforcement action—merely passing through. ICE, for its part, said it had no involvement at the stadium.
The incident comes as Southern California remains on edge following widespread federal immigration raids and large-scale protests targeting ICE facilities in Los Angeles. With the National Guard also deployed in parts of the city, public pressure on institutions like the Dodgers has ramped up dramatically.
Team manager Dave Roberts and several players have previously voiced support for immigrant communities. Now, fans and local leaders are calling on the organization to go further and explicitly reject any collaboration with federal immigration enforcement.
This latest episode adds fuel to a larger political debate that has gripped Los Angeles in recent weeks—one that now stretches from City Hall to the pitcher’s mound.
