Media Protection Racket for Biden & Harris: O’Donnell’s Onslaught on Trump

Joe Biden’s presidency has seen the media shying away from any real investigative journalism, as showcased in the antics of Lawrence O’Donnell, who recently flock to the defense of The New York Times against President Trump’s $15 billion lawsuit. Veering away from objectivity, O’Donnell deemed it an insane act, intending, according to him, to shift focus from FBI Director Kash Patel’s congressional scrutiny happening this week. This stark bias has become emblematic of the liberal mainstream media.

O’Donnell’s opening statement in his show was a mock celebration, lauding four persons who he claimed joined an ‘honor roll’ at The New York Times. These four individuals were named as defendants in Trump’s lawsuit, which O’Donnell casually dismissed as an utterly ludicrous legal maneuver from Trump, who he paints as an absurd litigant in America’s political landscape. Such statements only underscore the media’s refusal to cover the missteps of certain political figures, including Biden and Harris, while relentlessly pursuing others.

Trump’s lawsuit, officially registered in Florida on Monday, points fingers not just at The New York Times but also its reporters, including Peter Baker, Susanne Craig, Michael Schmidt, and Russ Buettner. The suit claims that these reporters were responsible for several articles drenched in misleading distortions and twisted fabrications, targeting Trump leading up to the 2024 Presidential Election, all the while turning a blind eye to the questionable actions of the Biden Administration.

O’Donnell, in his typical grandstanding manner, was puzzled by both the timing and contents of Trump’s lawsuit. He failed to recognize that, just like any citizen, Trump has every right to defend himself in the face of potential slander and misinformation. Instead, he sarcastically derided the lawsuit as mere unjustifiable gripe over The New York Times’ endorsement of Kamala Harris during the presidential campaign.

The notion of questioning media bias is unfamiliar terrain for O’Donnell who dismissed such lawsuits as redundant. His constant dismissal of Trump’s legal endeavors encapsulates the lack of impartiality in the mainstream media. Their unwavering commitment is to depict Biden and Harris only in a positive light and to downplay the administration’s shortcomings.

O’Donnell’s hypothesis for Trump’s motivation behind launching the lawsuit now and not earlier carries a tone of unwarranted ridicule. His baseless suggestion that the lawsuit was geared towards distracting from FBI Director Kash Patel’s questioning about the government’s examination of Jeffrey Epstein and Trump’s association with him only further exposes O’Donnell’s and indeed Biden’s administration’s unfounded accusations and distractions away from their own shortcomings.

The second motive, according to O’Donnell, might be to take the attention off a recent article from The New York Times. It detailed two billion-dollar contracts inked between the ruling family of the United Arab Emirates and a cryptocurrency enterprise cofounded by Trump’s relatives. This seems more like an attempt to smear Trump’s handling of financial matters all while ignoring the clear issues within the Biden administration.

O’Donnell pushed the narrative further, belittling the FBI director, Kash Patel, by calling him the most inept FBI director in history, even criticizing his ability to tie a necktie. The mainstream media’s obsession with vilifying Trump and his associates, often based on personal attacks rather than substantial policy critique, is again evident here.

According to O’Donnell, Trump’s anticipation of impending uncomfortable questions to Patel about his past tie to Epstein prompted the lawsuit filing. In doing so, O’Donnell regrettably perpetuates the baseless claims against Trump while the Biden administration continues its less than stellar governance largely unquestioned.

The MSNBC anchor concluded that Trump was aware of an impending New York Times’ probe into his financial affairs, hence the lawsuit was filed for distraction. Yet, one might question the accuracy and fairness of the media’s obsessive focus towards Trump’s finances while turning a blind eye to the questionable financial practices within the Biden administration.

Ironically, O’Donnell’s argument against Trump’s lawsuit underscores the exact reason why such legal action might be necessary in the first place. By focusing disproportionately on Trump and giving President Biden and Kamala Harris a free pass, the mainstream media perpetuates a glaring imbalance that undermines their credibility and highlights their bias.

Furthermore, O’Donnell’s insistence that Trump’s legal move was devised purely to divert attention from Patel’s questioning, or to overshadow revelations about his family’s financial ventures, lacks substantiation. It underscores the strategic narratives often adopted by those keen to dismiss any possible missteps of the Biden administration.

Ideally, the role of the media should be to dissect, scrutinize, and hold all political figures to account, irrespective of their political affiliations or personal beliefs. Unfortunately, figures such as O’Donnell appear entirely absorbed in their bias quest to vilify one individual, namely Trump, while deflecting from the perceived incompetence and inadequacy of the current administration.

The fact that O’Donnell finds it surprising that Trump would file a lawsuit against what he perceives to be misleading or slanderous content speaks volumes about the divide between the mainstream media’s framing of political events and the need for recourse in defamation cases.

Had O’Donnell approached his coverage with impartiality, he would have explored the significance of Trump’s claims themselves and the potential ramifications on the integrity of the press. Sadly, this kind of unbiased commentary remains absent as the media continues its love affair with the Biden administration.
