Notorious Drug Kingpin Edwin Abrams Arrested in Stamford

The Narcotics & Organized Crime Unit of the Stamford Police Department (SPD), in joint operation with the DEA-Bridgeport Residence Office and several other regional and federal agencies, has successfully concluded a considerable narcotics investigation. The investigation led to the capture of Edwin Abrams, who is believed to be a key figure in the Fairfield County illicit drug trade.

Edwin Abrams, with a birth record showing September 14, 1981, was apprehended on July 17, 2024. The arrest took place after the police detective unit spotted Abrams supposedly taking part in a narcotics exchange right outside his dwelling at #335 Wells Street, Apartment #4, situated in Bridgeport, CT.

This capture follows a rigorous probe into Abrams’ alleged involvement in trafficking fentanyl and cocaine extensively within the region. The authorities seized a total of $10,693 in cash from Abrams at the time of his arrest.

A subsequent lawful investigation of his apartment, under a properly issued warrant, led to the discovery of an extra $1,313 neatly stashed away. Additionally, around 112 grams of cocaine and 73 grams of fentanyl were found.

In the course of the search within Abrams’ premises, the police also found scales and packaging supplies typically associated with the illicit drug trade. This pointed towards his active involvement in drug distribution within the community.

A total of three counts of Sale of Narcotics were made against Abrams, resulting in him being held at the SPD jail facility as per his charges. His bond has been set at $100,000 by court jurisdiction.

Abrams’ circumstances are further complicated by his existing status on Special Parole that lasts till 2030. Consequently, a parole remand has been issued against him, adding to his current legal challenges.

Appreciation has been extended by the SPD’s Narcotics & Organized Crime Unit to the DEA-Bridgeport Residence Office, the FBI-Bridgeport Safe Streets Task Force, and the Bridgeport Police Department for their collective efforts and cooperation in the operation.

The long criminal history of Edwin Abrams, particularly with several felony drug convictions stemming back to as early as 1998, underscores the importance of this recent arrest in the broader battle against regional narcotics trafficking.
