North Sea Oil Producer Slams The UK’s Windfall Tax
The chief executive of Enquest criticizes the UK’s Energy Profits Levy, claiming it is doing “irreversible damage” to the oil and gas industry and discouraging investment.
Due to the heavy tax burden, the company is planning a “disciplined approach” to investment and expects to pay a significant amount in windfall tax in June 2025.
Enquest argues that the UK is the only country levying a windfall tax on its domestic energy producers where no windfall profits exist, further impacting competitiveness.
The boss of Enquest has slammed the windfall tax on oil and gas firms as doing “irreversible damage” to the industry and “driving job losses across the sector”.
It is designed to tax the extra profits these companies made due to surging energy prices after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Initially, the rate was 25 per cent, but it later jumped to 35 per cent in January 2023.

Goldman analysts surprised to learn that policies of energy independence lower prices for the poor

All the experts seemed shocked and surprised that inflation soared when Biden set out to destroy all oil, gas, and natural gas companies. They also had no idea that printing massive amounts of money, issuing regulations as fast as they could, and opening borders to anyone who wanted to come would lead to the highest inflation in forty years.
Somehow, the experts weren’t worried about the bond market, the debt, or the deficit until Trump took office.

The answer is everyone should have known.
Of course they also seem confused as to why the cost of college hasn’t become more affordable, as they continue to increase costs now that the government guarantees the loans.
It is unexpected to Al Gore and other green pushers that the ice is still in the Arctic and Antarctic, and the oceans are barely rising. It is not unexpected to those of us who are falsely called climate change deniers that the climate is and has always changed cyclically and naturally.

Two illegal aliens have been arrested in connection with the hit-and-run death of 18-year-old Ava Moore, an incoming US Air Force Academy cadet who was set to begin basic training this June.
Ava Moore was killed while kayaking on Sunday when the 21-year-old illegal alien ran her over with a jet ski and fled the scene.

The daily standard of 1,000 Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrests during the early days of the Trump administration is falling short of an administration goal which is reportedly targeting 3,000 per day.
The stepped-up ICE goals were laid out by White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem in a “tense” May 21 meeting at ICE’s D.C. headquarters, sources told Axios.
That effectively means ICE arrests will have to come by rounding up those holdovers from former President Joe Biden’s open-borders policies, finding those who have evaded local law enforcement after being allowed to enter illegally and then be released into sanctuary city communities around the country.

Report: North Korea Has Enough Fuel for 90 Nuclear Warheads
The Congressional Research Service (CRS) issued a report on Friday that found North Korea has produced enough fissile material — i.e. atomic bomb fuel — to build up to 90 nuclear warheads, a dramatic increase from the 20 to 60 warheads it was believed capable of building last year.

The United States Department of Justice has officially taken legal action against the North Carolina State Board of Elections for failing to follow federal election law, exposing what could be one of the largest voter registration scandals in recent history.
According to the complaint, over 200,000 individuals may be listed in North Carolina’s voter rolls without proper identification or legal registration, violating the Help America Vote Act (HAVA) — a federal law designed to ensure clean, accurate, and secure voter rolls in all 50 states.
This legal firestorm comes on the heels of President Trump’s March executive order aimed at preserving the integrity of America’s elections.
That order, Executive Order 14248, directed federal agencies to investigate and enforce laws guarding against illegal voting, fraud, and administrative failure.
The DOJ’s 19-page complaint names the entire North Carolina State Board of Elections — including board members Francis X. De Luca, Jeff Carmon, Stacy Eggers IV, Siobhan O’Duffy Millen, and Robert Rucho — as well as Executive Director Sam Hayes, for refusing to enforce basic ID verification for voters.
The lawsuit alleges the state knowingly used a voter registration form that made critical ID fields optional — a direct violation of federal law. Voters were allowed to register without a valid driver’s license, without the last four digits of a Social Security number, and without any unique identifier — all mandatory under HAVA.
Even worse, internal admissions from board officials during a November 2023 hearing reveal they knew about the problem and chose not to fix it, opting instead to “revamp the form later.” In other words — they let potentially ineligible voters flood the rolls before the 2024 election.
