President Trump Gives Iran 15 Day Deadline for Nuclear Deal, Warns of Consequences

President Trump said Thursday that Iran has no more than 10 to 15 days to reach an agreement with the United States, warning that failure to do so would result in an “unfortunate” outcome.

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, President Trump signaled that patience is running thin as negotiations continue over Tehran’s advancing nuclear program. U.S. officials have expressed concern that Iran has moved closer to weapons grade uranium enrichment, raising alarms in Washington and Jerusalem.

“We’re going to make a deal, or we’re going to get a deal one way or the other,” President Trump said. He declined to specify whether the end goal is the complete dismantling of Iran’s nuclear program but made clear that consequences are on the table if diplomacy fails. “We’re either going to get a deal, or it’s going to be unfortunate for them,” he added.

The talks also include broader U.S. and Israeli demands that Iran curb its long range ballistic missile program, stop supporting armed groups across the Middle East, and halt violent crackdowns on domestic protesters. According to reports, Iran has resisted some of those wider conditions.

Negotiations have continued through indirect talks in Geneva. President Trump said “good talks are being had,” while a senior U.S. official indicated that Iran is expected to submit a written proposal addressing American concerns. Iranian negotiator Abbas Araghchi said progress had been made but cautioned that a final agreement would not come quickly.

Vice President JD Vance reinforced the administration’s position, saying that firm red lines have been established. He acknowledged that while discussions have continued, Iran has not yet agreed to key American demands.

President Trump’s remarks came as Iran conducted annual military drills with Russia and as a second U.S. aircraft carrier moved closer to the region. Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei also warned of potential military action despite the ongoing talks, underscoring the high stakes as the deadline approaches.
