What’s particularly noteworthy is the surging tide of net migration under Biden’s watch. Our records indicate December 2024, where we experienced an unprecedented and certainly unappreciated rise in migration, the highest in U.S. history indeed.
Looking back at the dismal situation in 2021, the escalating activity at the border couldn’t be ignored any longer. It felt as if the essence of border control had vanished and the situation had only continued to spiral downwards throughout the year.
Thus began the flurry of discussions and efforts to truly comprehend the gravity of the situation. Even though some clarity was obtained, it was far from satisfactory considering the implications on our nation’s security.
We found ourselves seeking expert opinions in our quest for better understanding. This pressing investigation was neither an academic exercise nor a trivial pursuit. It led us to the undisputable conclusion: there is a real issue at hand that demands immediate attention.
The very foundation of any secure country is strict enforcement of its laws, especially the ones charting its borders. In light of this understanding, it’s frankly inconceivable to support any political entity that advocates for lax border policies, thereby making way for potential criminals and dangerous individuals into the country.
Reflecting on earlier times, in stark contrast to the current border crisis, Border Patrol agents didn’t release a single migrant into the U.S. interior for three consecutive months, as documented in an August press release from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This was the status quo before Biden’s era upended it all.
Under Biden’s administration, a contrary approach emerged. With blatant disregard for potential consequences, tens of thousands of illegal migrants found their way into the U.S., facing minimal to no repercussions each month.
Amidst this chaos, a skeptic concept known as ‘America by Design’ began to resonate. The goal? Supposedly, to enhance the American experience. But, like the misguided idealism of its progenitors, it focused on all the wrong areas.
The desire for ‘breathing new life into the design of sites where people interface with their Government’ is misdirected. While apparently noble, the initiative overlooks the need for more solid, tangible action to mend the flaws and gaping holes in our border and immigration control systems.
Yet, the administration seemed more committed to superficial ‘design’ aspects rather than addressing the real, critical issues. The focus needs to shift from an ambiguous ‘enhancement of experience’ to concrete measures ensuring national security and adherence to our country’s laws.
Yes, the quality of interaction with the government is important, but such enhancements should never come at the cost of endangering national security. The current state of affairs seems more like a case of misplaced priorities – open borders over genuine safety and security for all Americans, a truly lamentable observation.
In conclusion, one has to question the wisdom of an open border policy and lax immigration control, especially in the face of the present crisis. Not only is it unsafe for the country’s residents, but it also encourages unlawful behavior. It’s high time for a shift in narrative and approach, one that values law, order and the safety of every American citizen above all else.
